We had their food before and it was delicious. We are huge Chinese food eaters. However, I went to go order tonight and I was going to order at least four different combos. However, they did not have fish on any of their combos but they do serve it on their menu. I asked them could you substitute something for fish and they told me no. Well since I am a chef and I've been in the industry for over 25 years and I have four certificates in customer service, two from tourism, Nova Scotia and two from airmark Canada. People need to understand customer is King and always will be king customers are the reason why your doors are open. By you saying no to me shows me your customer service sucks and you don't know nothing about customer service And don't care about your customers. Your food might be delicious but just because you said no to me over a simple little thing, I will never bring my family or my friends or will never recommend this place again because your customer service sucks not my problem. That's your problem. You need to do better. Plus also, what the hell is this closing at 9:00 p.m. on a weekend? That is just stupid. Back in Nova Scotia some Chinese restaurants Stay open! 11,12 1:00 a.m. people are partying people are drinking people want delicious Chinese food, Etc. but on the real note, you really need to bring up your customer service skills and stop saying no over the simplest little things. I'm a chef. I know you're not losing any money. I know all about food cost. I know how to make plates. You're just being ridiculous because you don't care about your customers. Sorry will never be back. I also guarantee you they're not even going to reach out to me to try to make this better Plus, they're probably not even going to comment anything. They're just probably going to ignore it. That's just their way of customer service. Actions always speak louder than words and seeing...
Read moreUPDATED RESPONSE TO OWNER: Your response just confirms exactly what I said in my review. You attack customers instead of taking criticism with any level of professionalism. Calling me “useless” says more about your attitude than it does about me.
You can spin staff turnover however you want, but regulars notice the revolving door. And dismissing it as “none of my business” while accusing me of being a stalker? That’s not only immature, it’s hostile.
As for telling a paying customer to “give your head a shake”, you’ve just shown the entire public how you treat people when you’re challenged. Thanks for proving my point better than I ever could.
ORGINAL REVIEW: The owners here are completely unfriendly and careless about customer service. It honestly feels like they’ve got personal or family problems, and now customers are the ones paying the price for it. Absolutely disgusting how detached and cold they are with the very people keeping their business alive. Shameless and ungrateful.
The staff turnover says it all—waitresses keep changing, and it’s no surprise. If as a paying customer I feel unwelcome, imagine how miserable it must be for the employees. The ones who do stay look unhappy and drained, walking around with the same bitter expressions as the owners.
Paul and Co.—your vibe is toxic. Stop dragging your personal issues into your business. Customers come to enjoy food and hospitality, not to feel like they’re intruding on your bad day every...
Read moreWhen I was a younger man, my dad would pull into an unknown restaurant in an unknown town - he liked to experiment a bit. If that restaurant advertised Western-Chinese, you could paint a picture of the décor before you ever entered. The menu, often in a faux leather binder, would be laid out with Vignelli-like precision, taking you from egg rolls, through chop sueys and sweet & sour spare ribs, past combo dishes and eventually to the hamburger and BLT options. With a soda and green tea period ending this exotic sentence.
Now Western-Chinese food is a slowly fading memory. The plebes babble about Dan-Dan and duck blood while snorting about authenticity, apparently completely unaware of the meaning of authentic. I like dim sum as much as the next fella, but sometimes one craves a bit of lemon chicken and ginger beef. And that is getting much harder to find.
Walking into Twins isn't going to alert you to what they serve. It's a bit soulless; however, the menu was a nod to tradition and the service was good. But, ultimately, we are here specifically for the food. So how was that?
The spring roll may be the best I've ever had. The lemon chicken and fried rice were very good. The Chow Mein was okay, but disappointing in that everything else was better. The serving sizes are American-made, so bring an appetite with you.
If you rock to egg foo young, then don't be afraid to give this spot a try. But I will suggest that...
