LeBlanc Patates, though having made slight changes in recent years, remains as it has been for as long as I can remember. Having spent several years in Alberta, I took great pride when referring to "Pevins" and my firm belief that they make THE BEST poutine you'll ever find. The menu never changes, you can still only pay with cash and I still see the same faces behind the counter that I did 15 years ago. Their wood tables have likely been in that restaurant longer than I've been alive, getting lunch there on a school day is still nearly impossible and when the close for their yearly vacation/renovations in the winter, time still seems to cease moving forward. Read moreI loved eating here as a kid when I lived in Athelstan and Huntingdon, used to go there a lot in the late '70s and very early '80s and then a few times starting in '84 after I no longer lived in either community. I always got steamies & fries, as that was the only food they had that interested me at that time. The last time I had food from there was in mid-99 when I went to visit my former foster parents who live in Athelstan.

My expirences have been mixed... sometimes everything goes well (fast friendly service, hot food done right) while other times, not so good (served cold food and not offered to fix it, undercooked fries, moldy smell in the restaurant one time). The hot dogs are a bit expensive, but the cole slaw is sweet and tasty. The fries are freshly cut and usually cooked to perfection. The burgers are nothing special, like most places. This place used to be a great late-night destination, but now they close at 10pm. Be aware that they only accept cash...no cards...
