The Canyon Bar and Grill — Restaurant in Kelowna

During a recent visit to Kelowna, I had the pleasure of dining here. It was recommended to me by a family member who is a local. We said we wanted food and a beautiful view. We sat outside on the patio and had a see lovely view of the golf course, the mountains in the distance, and the vibrant colours of the sky during sunset. The service was excellent. It was friendly, prompt and attentive.

We ordered the nachos and chicken wings for our appies. The nachos were tasty and the wings were a good size, crispy on the outside without being dry on the inside.

For our mains, we ordered the chicken schnitzel, fish and chips, and the sirloin steak. The steak was perfectly cooked and tender, the broccolini perfectly charred and the potatoes crispy and flavourful.

The chicken schnitzel was tasty and the portion was generous. I was just surprised that the chicken was thick. I was expecting it to have been pounded thinly. That being said, the chicken was perfectly cooked and seasoned, crispy outside and still moist inside. It came with a generous mound of crispy fries. I would order it again.

The fish and chips were okay. Batter was light and crisp.

I asked for a side of mayo to go with my fries. I'm not sure what brand they use, or if it's made in house, but the mayo wasn't very creamy and was quite tart. That's the only thing I didn't like.

Good Covid-19 protocols. Open only Thursday to Saturday for this part of winter. Early sitting was a full house. Specials gone by 2nd sitting. Using OpenTable so easily book online to find night with first sitting open. Winter menu has small plate selection so easy to have as much or little as you want. Excellent roasted vegetables plate. 5 12" pizzas. I hope they stay open...

Came here for Mother's day brunch which was fabulous. Served buffet style with banquet seating, which I'm not a huge fan of (not the buffet, but the banquet hall and seating), but we could still enjoy the view and had a fabulous meal. Even the baby...
