First off to the user with the COVID comments the other day, they obviously do not fully understand the so called Public Health Order. It would appear they would rather help ruin the reputation of a fantastic local business trying to survive in an ever changing environment. I happen to know after going to this place several times this year that the owner has a mask exemption. An exemption that all businesses are suppose to accept and respect with no questions asked. I also have a family member with an exemption that has been treated far worse at some local businesses that show no respect for the actual health order and or "ban" people with an exemption. I would say that there is a reason why other peoples medical conditions are none of your business!! I am also sure he would have explained that to you politely and if for some reason you felt that was not acceptable, go eat at a large chain restaurant or stay home. I can see this bothered you so much that you decided to create your first review on Google and post a huge non compliant alert over the owner using his medical right. I hope you feel good about yourself and thanks for saving the citizens of Kelowna :) Its people like you that will ensure the governments policies will be in place forever.
Anyways on to the staff, cider and food. All fantastic!!! The young healthy crew behind the counter who apparently risk their lives being there are always amazing and always wearing their "required" face coverings for anyone that is concerned. The place is spotless, the ciders are all fantastic with frequent new releases. They just released a new Apple Pie cider which is great. The Pizzas are all fantastic and they have a couple really nice vegan options for pizza which i can vouch for as my wife has a dairy allergy. Fried chicken is Mon - Wed currently and is also great. I also finally made it down on Tuesday for the Shucked Oyster Co on site. Oysters were fantastic and they also deserve a 5 star review. Every second Tuesday they will be on site. They also have a variety of games and an old Nintendo just in case your kids happen to be with you.
Five stars all day long for this place, for respecting "all" their customers having a fantastic menu, great cider, and super...
Read moreSaturday June 8th was my first ( quite possibly my last) visit to the Cidery . When we first arrived, we were greeted with a relatively friendly reception. We inquired as to the seating situation. We decided we would sit on the roof and we were told that if we did that we would place our order at the bar and then the food would be brought up to us. My brother and his wife ordered cider flights. The flights were immediately brought up to them and I ordered a virgin Mojito because I had a migraine. We also ordered the vegan charcuterie board.( pictured) It was very good! Because there was three of us, we also ordered a flatbread/pizza. It was rather bland and not noteworthy. We were told the water station was upstairs and we could help ourselves. Which it was. When we were filling our glasses with water, the server told us he would bring us ice because all the ice had melted in the water station. The ice never did come to our table. Sadly, at some point during our visit, the water station was removed and it was not brought back up until our visit was almost over. My Mojito did not show up until the meal was over and it was only brought to me because my sister-in-law finally went downstairs and asked for it. Service was lacking tremendously. And when we left my brother and his wife who were visiting from the sunshine coast, wanted to purchase some cider to take back with them and the bartender that served them did not smile once nor did he know how to conduct the purchase properly. Throughout the entire transaction, he kept saying, âI donât know how to do thatâ. He said that multiple times throughout the entire transaction! đ The only saving grace to this entire visit was the beautiful weather. I live in Vernon and had the experience been better, I would take visitors there! It would be a nice change of pace from all of...
Read moreSeems as though I had a different experience than most of the other reviews left here.. Went on a Friday night and waited about 20 mins for a spot inside (no problem at all, as thatâs to be expected on a busy night) , and we were sat at the bar. We were not asked to provide our proof of vaccination, or any form of ID (odd to see as that is now the only mandate besides masks that is still in effect). Once we sit down, we get two flights of cider that were actually quite enjoyable. About 20 mins goes by and we decide we want to order some pizza, and we were informed that the kitchen would be shut down for another 30 mins due to a large party in the other room. This information was not relayed to us upon putting our names on the wait list, nor when we sat down to order drinks. After around 15 mins of waiting for the kitchen to open, we hear the people beside us ask a bartender if the kitchen is open, and they are told yes. I then called one of the (quite negligent) bartenders over to confirm this is true, and we order some food. No one came to us to inform us that the kitchen was open again, and after we received our flights of cider, we were practically ignored. On top of the fact that we are in the midst of a pandemic, there were many other red flags beyond Covid-19 protocols. My boyfriend and I watched 3 bartenders stand behind the bar in plain sight and take shots of tequila on two separate occasions, along with having half eaten burgers and fries on the back side of the bar. Masks were below the employees chins 90% of the time, and in order to receive ANY attention from an employee, you practically have to wave your hands up in the air to get them to even look your direction. Had high expectations going in as weâve heard this is a good place, but from my experience yesterday, I will not...
