Do NOT only look at the average rating!!! We did the same mistake. In that 30min we were waiting for the our food we read the reviews, it was too late. There was only one person who made the Beavertails and ice creams and he was taking his time. He is super slow. We ordered only one Beavertail and an ice cream and we had to wait 30min!?? Plus, Beavertail was burned. Look at the pictures I attached to this review. I have never eaten bad Beavertail like this. I saw some of them were not burned like mine which also proves he didn't pay attention. I also don't understand why they keep the dough outside where the flies park on them.

Members of the Ottawa MG Club, on their way home from Huntsville last weekend, took a side trip to the home of the first Beaver Tail outlet. Found in Killaloe Ontario, it was a short jog off the highway, next to a river and park featuring an old covered bridge. The two friendly members of staff were a little overwhelmed by the sudden arrival of our group, but quickly served us all. If you deserve a treat, and need to stretch your legs, you will be well rewarded with a stop at this historic outlet!

The birthplace of Beavertails!!! There was a lovely brochure with the story of the business. The family who created it is the Hooker family, and the official brochure repeatedly refers to them as The Hookers, which I found just delightful. The employee who took our order and made our food was genuinely nice and cheerful and seemed to take pleasure in her work. The Beavertail itself was, of course, excellent. Definitely worth stopping here if you’re around the area.

With the whole hype that the stand is considered the “birthplace of the Beavertails”, it was rather a very unpleasant experience. We noticed it was quite busy, but the two workers did not even acknowledge the people in line. My husband and friends stood in line for a good 15-20 minutes with a few people behind us. The only time the lady spoke was when our dogs barked and asked us to move the dogs behind a sign they had by the garbage. We ended up leaving as the line did not move. Only later to find out from a previous review that a lady had written, that we actually had to order from the ice cream stand next door. I believe the lady that wrote the review was just behind us in line. How were we supposed to know where to order? We figured it was at the Beavertails stand….No signs, no nothing. The workers couldn’t even inform us that we would need to order next door. We waited in line for absolute no reason. The lady working there definitely does not seem too happy to be there. Very...

Terrible service. Stood there waiting for 15 minutes while they failed to acknowledge guests. Several people in line got fed up and left. Worker’s family arrived and she acknowledged them & made them a beavertail while a line of guests were waiting.

Finally asked if I could order, and was only then told you have to go to the grill to order & pay. When asked why nobody informed guests, they said “we used to have a sign, but the owners told us to take it down.” Suggested that they acknowledge guests when they arrive & inform them, and they just shrugged it off.

Once I gave them my order, another 10 minutes went by while the worker cooked up over 10 beavertails, left them to sit and get cold. He only prepared my order once I went over and waited by the stand.

Will definitely not be going back; and highly recommend you just wait until the travelling beavertail stands come to your town. Don’t waste your time here. Because your business sure isn’t...
