When I first arrived, I didn't think the place was open. The windows looked dark and there were no cars in the lot. The building gave off a derelict vibe. I went in, and to add to the impression that it was closed or past its heyday, the large dining room to the right was closed. The smaller area to the left was open, and I was nicely greeted right away by the server. I saw a menu board with just a few things like hamburgers and cheeseburgers, and thought this was all they had to offer and that I would have to go somewhere else. But the server gave me menus for lunch and breakfast, which had more choices. Before ordering, I visited the washroom. This was a nightmare! There were 2 stalls, one of which was more like a small room. I could see that the room was dark and there was a sign saying that toilet was out of order. There was a definite creepy feeling here. And the smell... it was a combination of old, dirt-floor basement smell with a very strong overtone of urine. It was pretty disgusting, and I got out as soon as possible. I got a BLT and fries, while my dining partner got the chicken souvlaki. My sandwich was fine, nothing special, but it met my expectations. The fries were good. I think my wife enjoyed her meal, except for the garlic toast, which was hard as rock. The service was friendly and attentive. Overall, a pretty weird experience, and the washroom really detracted from the experience. I might stop here again if in the area, but would definitely not...
Read moreThere's 2 separate sides to this restaurant. One side has a very pared down 'diner' feel (not fancy at all) with an actual counter with stools, along with regular tables all kind of placed sporadically throughout the big space .. and the other side has a more bit more 'dining' type feel with red matching tablecloths (all covered in plastic) and a fake fireplace on the one wall. Bright room from all the windows right round both spaces. Went on Father's Day last week. They were very busy (a bit in the weeds as they say in the business) and the staff (maybe all family?? LOL) seemed a bit stressed and were raising their voices at each other. I was starting to get a bit stressed myself (having been in the business before) but the food arrived and it was really good! Eggs, over easy .. done perfect, sausages (a bit too sweet tasting for my liking but still good), plain crispy friend home fries (no spicing .. just plain but again OK), toast (buttered properly LOL) and served with a generous size of fresh fruit cup (very good blend of oranges, melons, cantaloupe, grapes, blueberries!!) . My husband had a Western Omelette with cheese that was so large he couldn't eat it all .. also because he liked the potatoes home fries so much LOL... served with a fresh fruit cup also. We will definitely be going back. Not fancy ... but very good!! .. and large enough I'm sure they can handle larger groups and a good...
Read moreServer was EXTREMELY RUDE AND SLOW. We went there shortly before noon and apparently they were already serving lunch and dinner menus. So I ordered fish and chips and the rest of my family ordered breakfast. When I ordered my fish and chips I was told that I couldn't order it because the rest of my family was ordering breakfast items. She told me that the cook wouldn't cook fish and chips at the same time as he was making breakfast items. Why I'm not sure. It didn't and still doesn't make any sense to me. So I ordered something else and I got told the exact same thing again. Finally after being told 4 times that they wouldn't cook what I ordered at the same time as breakfast items I ordered something that they would cook. At this point I'm really annoyed and was ready to just pay for our drinks and leave but the kids wanted to stay and eat so I stayed reluctantly. When our food FINALLY CAME it was SO COLD. The food was so COLD THAT FOR ALL I KNOW THEY JUST TOOK IT OUT OF THE FRIDGE AND PUT IT ON THE PLATE. Needless to say that was the first time and LAST TIME I GO THERE. I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE EVER. PLEASE DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY...
