Worst service from a restaurant I’ve ever experienced. I ordered twice from here over the phone for pick up and the orders were small orders each time. My first order I was told 45 minutes and it’ll be ready I waited 1.5 hours the second visit I was told 30 minutes for my order to be ready for pickup at 11:23 I arrived at 12 pm to pay and pick up my order and the cashier told me 5 more minutes I waited for 10 minutes at 12:10 I see him now cooking the order I asked him why did you tell me 5 minutes and it’s now been 10 and I did not get my order he said I’m cooking your order now and he then dropped the roti on the ground and then put it on the stove to be cooked I told him that is unsanitary and that he better not continue to cook that and serve to me he proceeded to cook it while ignoring as I spoke to him I left immediately as this is a health code violation. Terrible service from this restaurant and from what I witnessed clearly there are health code violations occurring be very cautious if you’re buying food from here or buy at your own risk. Terrible service from the people working here and they are not able to understand time and how to read clocks as they say your order will be ready at a specific time and do not prepare it. I do not recommend buying from this restaurant and I will be reporting this health violation. I would give this restaurant Zero stars if that...
Read moreEdit: have not been charged for condiments since last edit. Oct 4th. And thanks you for the reply. EDIT( UPDATE) may 12, since the price increase for toppings, i dont find ive been going as often for doubles since theres a charge for condiments, i dont pay for ketchup on my fries, or gravy on a poutine, or gravy in my curry, i dont want to pay for condiments on my doubles lol. Not to take away from this establishment, but honestly i dont pay extra for condiments in Trinidad either lol... its part of your dish... so the food may come close to trinidad doubles but the name says it all i guess, carribbean "style" food. Go there expecting to pay extra for everything including dahlpuri wrap on your roti, which is the traditional roti, not paratha which they offered for the regular price before the price increase..
I've eaten here 5 days in a row. I've sent all my immediate family members here to grab food 5 days of this week already too hahaha just can't get enough of this delicious taste of sweet sweet t&t style doubles and chicken roti.i close my eyes and this taste takes me away to a time walking down high street in San Fernando and grabbing a couple hot doubles before heading to class. You guys, we needed this here for so long but even more so with travel restrictions etc it really brought back amazing memories of the islands. This doubles taste like a trinidad...
Read moreMy family and I decided to try this place out after hearing good things. I don't have any experience with Doubles, so have nothing to compare against, and cannot make any claims as to how authentically it replicates the "true" food. What I can claim though, is that the food is good and the service was outstanding.
As this our first time, we did not know what to order and the staff was very helpful and took a lot of time to discuss the various options and to make suggestions based on other things we enjoy. She was friendly and seemed to genuinely care that we would enjoy the food that we ordered.
We waited about 15 minutes for our order to be ready for takeout. There is a very small seating area, which was empty, but I suspect most of their business is takeout. There were no public bathrooms available for use.
I enjoyed the food. My kids tried most of the things we ordered and liked some of it. There are other places I enjoy more, but if I was asked to go here again, I know that I'd find something that I would enjoy, and would be happy to try something...
