"Resto Pita Shawarma" in Lévis, Québec, is a culinary treasure trove that promises an unforgettable dining experience from start to finish. From the moment you step through the door, you're greeted by an atmosphere of warmth and hospitality, courtesy of the amazing, cheerful staff who go above and beyond to ensure your visit is nothing short of exceptional. One of the highlights of Resto Pita Shawarma is undoubtedly the outstanding taste of its dishes. The Makloub sandwich, in particular, stands out as a star of the menu, with flavors that transport diners to the streets of Tunisia. Each bite is a symphony of spices and textures that tantalize the taste buds and leave a lasting impression. Despite the bustling crowds that often fill the restaurant, patrons wait patiently for their dishes to be served, a testament to the friendly and welcoming ambiance that pervades Resto Pita Shawarma. The lively atmosphere only adds to the charm of the dining experience, creating a sense of camaraderie among diners as they savor the anticipation of their next delicious bite. However, it's worth noting that the service at Resto Pita Shawarma can be somewhat slow at times, detracting slightly from an otherwise flawless dining experience. Nevertheless, the exceptional taste of the food, coupled with the amazing staff and vibrant atmosphere, more than compensates for any minor inconveniences. In conclusion, Resto Pita Shawarma in Lévis, Québec, truly deserves a perfect score of five out of five. With its amazing staff, delectable dishes, and inviting ambiance, it's a culinary gem that promises an unforgettable dining experience for all who venture through its doors.

We stumbled upon this place after Ferry crossing from Quebec City to Lévis. Very authentic Middle Eastern food, the owners and staff went above & beyond to take care of us. As soon as you get to the counter they greet you with a smile and complimentary kahwa tea. You can dine in as the atmosphere and seating is great but takeout is also an option. We dined in. We were 5 people - ordered; 2 shawarma (beef) platters (with rice, couscous, fries, salad, pita), 1 Shawarma wrap with fries, 1 Shish tawook wrap with (chicken) and 1 pizza with shish tawook topping. Everything was served hot, the portion sizes were large and the quality of ingredients and taste was top notch. The Owners and staff were very friendly and the restaurant was very clean, the decor was nice too. Thank you to the owners & staff. Wish you all continued success. Insha’Allah. Ameen.

Let's get some cons out of the way: The place is very small, it takes time for an order to be prepared, as there's only 2 people working. There was no shawarma.. in that shawarma is supposed to be the meat stacked, seasoned and cooking in a rotisserie on a spit.. in this case, it was a woman grilling and chopping on a cooking board. So the final taste doesn't feel like Shawarma. BUT, the sandwich is actually delicious. It's like a greek flavored burrito, as they put green olives, and pickles in an all-dressed choice. The garlic potatoes are greek style. They have great garlic sauce. The staff was very nice. The owner even came by, and offered free mint tea to everyone, in a way a friend asks you to drink with him. Cozy place, worth trying!

So here’s the thing:

There’s a very good reason for the lineups out there door. There’s a very good reason you may be waiting for a while after your order is placed, sitting on the couches and drinking the mint tea provided by the jovial proprietor:

The food is good. It’s damn good.

The kitchen is putting out what might be the best shawarma I’ve had in a long long time - properly seasoned, heaped on all the toppings and served with just soft/crispy pita.

Oh, and the falafel, oh the falafel - I’m comparing this to my benchmark L’As du Falafel in Paris, and Resto Pita is up there. Sweet, garlicky, crispy. Umami from the first touch of the tongue. And we haven’t even got to the potatoes, served with tangy and flavorful garlic sauce. Fantastic. The pizza? Yeah. You’ll wait for this pizza. And you won’t care. It will be worth it.

This is a local Lévis institution. The kitchen staff know their customers by name. Head chef keeps the staff moving in a dramatic tiny kitchen ballet just below organized chaos. The proprietor greets each customer like an old friend. And I suspect many are. The tables are packed. The pizzas are hand tossed and topped up in front of you. The mint tea is sweet and scalding. Regulars wait patiently for their order number to be called.

There’s a strong sense of community here, and it’s accompanied by some of the best mid-eastern proper cuisine you’re going...

I can’t comment on the food because I never got the chance to try it, but I want to share my experience when calling to ask an important question about their meat sourcing. I only eat halal that is hand-slaughtered (not machine-slaughtered), and unfortunately, many restaurants aren’t aware of their suppliers’ exact methods.

I called the restaurant on Friday, August 8 at 3:25 PM and asked if they were certified halal. They said “no.” I then asked if any of their suppliers were certified halal. They said “yes.” Naturally, I asked for the names of their suppliers so I could verify for myself — but they refused to provide this information.

This left me with no way to confirm whether their meat is truly halal by my standards. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect transparency from a business about where their food comes from, especially when dietary restrictions are involved. Instead, I was essentially told to “just trust us,” which is not good enough when it comes to religious dietary requirements.

If you care about strict halal standards, be aware that this restaurant will not share supplier details with you. Transparency matters — and without it, I can’t confidently support or...
