As a roadside stop this has everything I would want; hot, delicious food, a place for my wife and I to stretch our legs, and a playground for my kids. We were introduced to this place by friends with a cottage on Lac Saint-Marie, and we've made a point of stopping almost every trip up that way since.

Some more things that make Jean-Burger awesome: The gravy. Good, thick, dark poutine gravy. Nobody makes fun of how atrocious my French is. (I swear I'm trying my best!) Six-foot tall pirate guarding the washrooms. Intrigue: There's some urban legend about a shady fire and insurance claim a few years back. I don't believe it or know anything about it but it makes for a better story. Nostalgia: It's the classic story of the popular cottage-country stop that saw the new highway go right around it. Those in the know (and that read Google reviews) still smugly savour our fries, knowing that those poor saps on highway 5 may never know the joys of...

Great food and kind staff. I was impressed by the service and appreciated it. I was served well and with a genuine happiness and enthusiasm and with respect. I met the new owner who cooked my burger and he is a really nice kind guy. He has done well. Came here for the first time in the summer and really enjoyed eating here. I dined in and enjoyed it, and have also taken take-out afterwards. Their burgers and poutine are really good. So are the fries. They have a really cool and interesting interior with licence plates from different places, which adds a cool vibe to the place, and makes it a great spot for those on the road. Would highly recommend this place if you like burgers and poutine that are good quality and taste good. A great spot to eat if your on the road travelling or even to just dine in even if you live in the area. A great place to have in the Wakefield area. I am looking forward to...

The new management here has put together a solid menu. Last time I had a burger here before the changeover it was like eating a hockey puck, I vowed never to return… yet I am glad I did.

Food was great! The smashed burgers are delicious, the fries are hand cut, not to oily and salted nicely. The service was great, and the wait time was minimal, this kitchen operates well and efficiently. The only slow down was at the cash - it seems like the POS system is challenging for the staff to use.

Ambience was fine, but nothing overly original, yet it was clean and staff checked in on tables regularly.

Prices felt high, but maybe these are the times we live in. Our meal was around 90$ for four of us, without alcohol (which they do have). However, the food was exceptional and I’d put their burgers up against any of the other places in the...

Great food, even better service. Had the OG Double Cheeseburger with poutine combo and a ginger ale. Burger was amazing, poutine was not the best I've ever had but still an excellent classic poutine. A little pricy for casse-croute fare, the whole thing came out to 28$ after tax and tip, but food was great. Free parking, they take credit cards, there's a nice covered outdoor eating area so you're not roasted by the sun, and a kids playground area. On the service side, a family's toddler hurt themselves on the swings, and a staff member came out with an ice pack and towel for the kid before the family even had a chance to ask, so 2 thumbs up to the staff for going above and beyond

I just ordered their “big burger” and I have never been more disappointed just looking at this SMALL burger. The tomato slice is bigger then the patty. I don’t even want to give it one star. If you are going to say it is like a Big Mac it better have two patties and a bun in the middle. I have spent 14 years working in the food industry and I have never felt more disappointed just looking at this. Definitely not worth the price tag considering a hamburger is $4 and this is $6.75 (tomato, onion and lettuce cost you $2.75) IF and that’s a big IF I ever go back I’ll stick to something else.

Great place! Clean and nice, plenty of seating inside and outside. Food was soooo good! The burger smashed patties are perfect - crispy, juicy and tasty, the bacon is thick and perfectly cooked, and the burger sauce is really good. The poutine is one of the best I’ve ever had, with tasty sauce, plenty of cheese (layered in the poutine - real ones know) and great fries! Portion size was also good. There are some fish based options, and the fish burger is really good. Big piece of fish, delicious and generous toppings. On top of it all, you can get fresh cold beer on tap! Highly recommend
