We came in for a reservation of 15 people at 7:30. It took around 45 minutes to get our drinks, except two were forgotten. By 8:30 everyone finally had their missing drinks and the server took our order. By 8:45 we got starters/appetizers, that part was quick. It took over an hour to finally get our meals. It was after 9:30 when they finally arrived and it was a disaster. Several steaks were ordered, 3 were cooked wrong. Those 3 were meant to be Medium Rare; one was blue rare, two were well done. For $60 steaks we expected a thick, juicy piece of meat, and most importantly cooked well. We all received giant slices of steak that were 1/2 an inch thick and lukewarm. They were bland and sad looking. One person ordered a prime rib special Well Done. I know prime rib tends to be pink but this one was bright pink. So what’s the point in even asking how we’d like it done? The prime rib was the evening’s special, yet it was still disappointing. I received the wrong side but at least they corrected that quickly. When these other issues were brought up to the server they avoided my problem/concerns and moved on to someone else. No apology or acknowledgement was offered, they didn’t care. I ate an over cooked steak because I was starving as we had been in the restaurant for over 2 hours at this point, and didn’t want to wait for a remake. I really can’t believe I didn’t even get an “I’m sorry about that.” Two people at the table ordered a second drink. One VIRGIN espresso martini, one regular alcoholic espresso martini. The drinks were good but BOTH contained alcohol. I’ll just say they served alcohol to a 16 year old… No one at the table was ID’d and there were several 16-19 year olds being offered drinks/wine. IDing is common practice, they are lucky they aren’t losing their liquor license over this. By the time we finally got the bill we had been there over THREE HOURS. The restaurant wasn’t very busy, yet the experience was still terrible. One of the only other tables in the restaurant was another large table right next to us. So 30 ish people in that space made it extremely loud. It was 10pm, the restaurant was nearly empty but I still couldn’t hear my family members 2 chairs down from me… The servers were attentive with water/ plates but I’m just astonished by the lack of care for issues and concerns. It was also quite crowded at the table, barely any room to set your drink down. We had this reservation for months and were expecting an excellent evening of fine dining. Safe to say not one out of the 15 people left the restaurant happy with their experience. It was a special occasion and we still made light of the evening because we were surrounded by family. We are all just very disappointed by the experience that this establishment provided. By the end were the last table to leave, right before 11:00. We were exhausted from spending our entire evening there. We had plans to have a campfire into the night but after that everyone just wanted to go home to bed. I would not recommend dining here, the small restaurants in Waskesiu are more worth your time. I’ll just say our bill was well over $1500 and not worth the...
Read moreBeen here before and everything was fantastic! This time we were not so lucky... Made reservations in advance. We get there and we're told "you can sit anywhere." So we sat at a table next to the bar. Then we waited 10 mins for a menu and a glass of water. Our server was busy so not a huge deal breaker - except for the fact that there were 2 other employees that didn't help her. Also noticed the other two employees were helping each other give their tables exceptional service from the second they were sat down, whilst our poor server was stuck to fending for herself. When we finally got to order, the food took a long time to come out. Which wouldn't have been so bad had it not been so awful... The Salmon was dry, wine was stale and we were fed bacon despite specifically saying we don't eat pork. Most of this is forgivable, so the only thing we complained about was the bacon, and we were going to leave it alone... however, when we over heard our poor server talking to the manager/supervisor¿¿? (the guy with the mullet cut) about the bacon incident and his response was "it's not a big deal, give them the bill." Well that's just insulting to our religious beliefs. Injury to insult, didn't even get an apology, not even a little bit of a discount for the offensive blunder... We were not going to tip, but still did, only because we felt bad for our server having to work in an environment that is obviously biased against her. Frankly when you're paying these prices, you just expect much better - especially when the menu says "we take all dietary restrictions...
Read moreOur overall experience was fantastic & we would highly recommend it! The first evening in the restaurant our server was much better than the second evening, but the food both evenings was excellent. The second evening there was a very large group in the back of the restaurant & that was where our very efficient server was running to & fro from. Our server the second evening just seemed to want to get us in & out quickly, which took away from the relaxation of the evening. They were definitely busier the second evening in the restaurant than the first. Our room was very clean & spacious. We had a king size bed with a fireplace, very nice!!! The soaker tub was amazing! The only downside is there is no room service. You can call the cafe and order, but then you have to go and get it and you can not order a carafe of coffee either for your room, only a cup. We did find the room quite warm, but we just opened the door for awhile. The room did have a/c, but it didn't go low enough for us. lol Like I said overall we can't...
