On your way to Montreal? It's worth driving a little further, cross into Quebec, and eat here instead of the generic fast food options at the OnRoutes in Ontario.
Poutine size is GENEROUS, with heavy molten hot and cheese stretchy regardless of how fresh the curds are. The chocolate crepe tasted fresh right off the grill, and the smoked meat sandwich, while on the small size, tasted great. The bread is well toasted, and the meat for and flavorful. A good value given that meat prices are much higher than only a few years ago.
The atmosphere is definitely local, but the friendly wait staff will switch to English when they quickly realize how level of French comprehension is between grade 9 Ontario curriculum and Duolingo student.
It's worth the stop off...

Very filling portions, with just enough to get you going on a long drive home. A wonderful 5...

The moment we opened the door we were welcomed with loud voices as the restaurant was packed. I was thinking to myself it must be good and also I have to be prepared to wait.

Thank you Resto de la Montee for making our trip a memorable one 🙏. You are a real gem...
