Folie Glacée — Restaurant in Longueuil

The workers are rude for no reason, I asked for a lactose free milkshake (which I expect to be lactose free milk), I paid like 8$ for it and I gave a 2$ tip to the girls, the milkshake was with soy milk and I don’t really tolerate that taste so I went back and politely asked to change for lactose free milk or get a refund and they were mad at me for not asking, they said it was in the menu but it was only written small in one menu whereas the one in the cash and the one in the line outside does not. The girl said she didn’t even want to refund me because she said I was wrong, I was just stating it was not my fault, she finally reimbursed me 6,50$ and not even the extra for it being lactose free, no tax, no receipt. I called the owner who was cocky and defended the workers, saying it was a Vegan option, it is not even a vegan option on the menu… Bad customer service from the workers and the owner, will not be coming back. Do not support rude people where there are smaller...

The ice cream tastes good but the service is really bad. The first visit they had to discuss in front of me whether they will sell or not the 1L sizes (18$ each not cheap) and how many flavors they should have in them. then they gave me 2L per my request but vertical boxes so the flavors can't be reached) but with free cones. I felt like they didn't feel like selling me for some reason although the order was worthy. Today i went again for a similar order of 1L and they decided to sell me the cones on the side per cone and chose to allow me less flavors then last time permitted. I asked if i could at least divide the 1L in two boxes so i could reach all the flavors to serve my guests but they refused and said that would cost me twice the amount. I obviously won't pay 18$ to be given an extra plastic box. Bad management - not...

Mise a jour:

Nous sommes repassé deux ans plus tard. Bien que la texture granuleuse/crystaux de glace des sorbets etait encore présente, nous avons noté une amélioration au niveau de la qualité.

Malgré que la texture des Gelato/sorbet ne m'ont toujours pas impressionè, les saveurs sont excellentes. Ca goûté vrai, et ça goûté bon. Je rajoute donc une étoile..

Après quelques récentes visites, les Gelato/sorbets ne semblent plus avoir de problèmes de texture.

Nous étions impatients pour la réouverture de cette place. Nous avons pris un grand gelato. Si les saveurs étaient au rendez-vous, pour la texture des gelato, ça ne le fait pas du tout.

Je comprends que le commerce vient de réouvrir, que la saison estivale commence, que les employés n’ont pas nécessairement été bien formés encore, voir même que le roulement ne permet pas d’offrir des glaces fraiches chaque jour.

Mon commentaire honnête est que la formule manque un peu d’amour. La texture granuleuse, pleine de cristaux de glace qui m’a été servie est résolument sous-standard pour un établissement à gelato qui se respecte. J’ai été très déçu, et j’éviterai cette place pour les gelato, même si j’habite juste à côté.

Je donnerai une deuxième chance au cours de l’été, en espérant que la qualité des gelato sera cette fois au rendez-vous. 3 étoiles généreuse, car je veux donner une deuxième chance avant de figer...
