EDIT SINCE OWNER REPLIED: Thank you for your response. My concern was never about price, but about the menu changes. It seems the unique smoked and BBQ dishes that set you apart were removed in favour of simpler items like burgers, wraps, and sandwiches. I’m happy to pay more for exceptional meals, but the menu now feels like many others.
My 2-star review was saved by the excellent service, two attentive servers made us feel well cared for. Without them, the rating would have been lower.
I’d also suggest taking lower-star feedback as an opportunity to grow, rather than responding defensively.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: It took me a week to post this, I have been back and forth about it but honestly it needs to have a review. I really wanted to give a higher review as we have been there last summer a few times and we absolutely loved it! The last time we went we had an amazing platter that made us want to come back for more this time.
It was a late lunch for us due to some last minute work, so we were starving and as I said, so looking forward to eat there as it had been a year. We were sad to see the menu changed and none of the items of food we wanted were available....to late to leave, we had already ordered a beer and again starving, so we decided to give it a try. The staff was quick and we had 2 servers which were both nice and great! (Hence the 2 starts). We started with rhe special of the day appetizer, a buffalo chicken dip with nachos both flour and corn.....it was something else to say the least. The chicken has no smoke taste, and the cheese which should be combined into the dip was on the very top, cold and never blended in with the dip so we had this clunky dip to eat....the flour nachos were alright and the corn tasted old and not even homemade, which is something they advertise.
We then went for a plate to share of 2 tacos with a side. We ordered 2 pork belly tacos with the fries....now this is were it went even more downhill for us. I am latina and while not Mexican, I really enjoy a good taco. This was an ordinary taco in Canada, a massive taco that you can barely hold with your hand that is covered in sauces....the pork belly....it was chewy, not falling apart at all which should be expected in a bbq place (last year was perfect btw) and the sauces....guys, you had a good starting base, the pico, but you ruined it by adding a weird tomato sauce and topping that up with a bunch of sour cream which i have never ever had on a pork taco, we had to remove more than half of the sauces because if you don't, tou end up esting more salsa and sour cream and not enjoy the actual meat. Tacos are all about the meat and in this case they really missed the point.
We didn't take pictures...I always do for our food every single time. I like food a lot! And for me to not even take a single picture, it really means it was not worth it.
Not sure if the change of menu and food quality is due to change of chef, ownership or both. But I would suggest start getting some of the best things you removed from your old menu back. Maybe because the location is not as busy as they thought, bbq and smoking is a big job that requires hours and staff, they have decided to cut corners and it unfortunately shows in the food, it seems to be a common practice in the area: New restaurant, they are killing it at the start but at some point they change menu and then it never is the same. At the moment we don’t plan to come back, but I will look forward to a menu change and hope for the best for the...

My visit to the beachside BBQ was not just a meal, but a delightful nautical adventure, thanks to the unique boat booth seating. As we settled into our cozy, boat-shaped booth, the ambiance instantly transported us to a seaside retreat, perfectly complementing the beachside vibe.
The brisket dinner was the hero of our culinary journey. Each slice of brisket was impeccably smoked, tender, and bursting with flavor, showcasing the art of perfect slow-cooking. The meal was balanced with seasoned vegetables and a flawlessly baked potato, making each bite a delightful experience.
But the true crowning jewel was the Skor cheesecake. This dessert was a heavenly mix of creamy cheesecake richness and the tantalizing crunch of Skor bits, ending our meal on a note of sublime sweetness.
The service at this BBQ haven was exceptional. The staff were attentive and genuinely friendly, ensuring our experience was comfortable and enjoyable. Dining in the boat booth added an extra layer of charm and uniqueness to our visit, making it not just a meal, but a memorable beachside escapade.
Overall, this beachside BBQ with its novel boat booth seating, outstanding brisket, and irresistible Skor cheesecake, complemented by top-notch service, is a culinary destination not to be missed. It’s a perfect blend of flavor, ambiance, and hospitality that calls for...
Read moreYou guys could make a killing if you just sold some of your side dishes out of a chip truck. Instead you're killing your reputation with bad barbecue.
Unseasoned pulled chicken and pork, dry brisket, dry ribs. The burnt ends were tragic. If I wanted a $100 platter of desiccated meat, I could've gotten a proper spread from the grocery story deli.
No smoke ring on the brisket. Drier than the surface of mars. This isn't good BBQ. Do better.
Edit in response to the owner: based on each critical response you receive, I figured this would be your tone. This doesn't seem to be an outlier. People who actually know BBQ, know when they're eating sub par food.
As far as damaging your reputation, maybe if you took criticism to heart, instead of deflect and put your head in the sand, things might get better. The whole dish was poor quality. Look at the picture. Does it look adequate? I'll save you the time. It doesn't.
Maybe do better. Definitely won't be coming back. The sad fact is I can make better ribs in my insta pot with a short broil right after. And those are trash by my own admission.
Keep thinking all criticism is an outlier. I'm sure that'll serve you really well. Welcome to the...
