The Admirals Galley and Keg — Restaurant in Marystown

We arrived and sat at our table, the server did finally come to the table and brought menus. There was no offer for beverages at this time and never throughout our waiting was there any water offered to the table. When the drinks were finally ordered and an appetizer we received our drinks fairly quick, but the appetizers took 45 minutes. And the "Tiger" shrimp cocktail consisted of 7 shrimp that seemed they come from a shrimp ring. The 5 plates of food come out 1 at a time. The food was less then sub par. The fish and chips were like a frozen dinner. Yes it was very busy at the time with a total of 11 customers in the place.The food was terrible, expected better after sitting for an hour and a half for it to get to the table. Went for the first time as a party of 6. We waited for 2 hours for our food and when it arrived the chicken and ribs were dry and overcooked and the scallops were straight up raw. 2 tables that came in 30 to 40 minutes after our table received their food before our table did. Observing and watching it is very obvious that this restaurant is understaffed and the kitchen is in complete disarray and the 6 of us will not be back - extremely poor service and experience. We understand that this is a new owner but these basic necessities should have been in place before...

The last time we ate here was 5 years ago, and it was probably the worst meal we’ve ever eaten in a restaurant. Hearing that there was a new owner, we decided to try again and we were totally impressed!!!! Our food was excellent (the Admirals Burger and the Clubhouse were outstanding, and they have the best gravy I’ve had in a restaurant in a long time), and the service was very quick and attentive.
