Catch of the Bay Fish and Chip Boat — Restaurant in Masstown

I don't know where to start to tell you the truth. This was my first and last visit. We ordered Fish and Chips, Clams/Fish and Chips both including coleslaw and a container of potato salad. The Haddock fillets were huge. Actually too big and too thick. It did not taste fresh, it actually had to be chewed ( I'm used to melt in your mouth Haddock), the batter was awful and overall it was over cooked. The fish was not easy to cut because of the overcooking. The Clams were chewy and not tasty. The Fries might have had a chance if they had been hot. When I have to put ketchup on fries to eat them, they're either not good or not hot. Ours might have been slightly above room temperature. Lastly I'll add the coleslaw, Potato salad and Tartar sauce. The coleslaw was not normal slaw! I looked at the potato salad and put the lid back on instantly. It actually looked like chowder/soup! I love slaw but this was not good or even what one would expect. The tartar sauce was some kind of "old fashion" brand and not tart at all. Honestly, I am so glad that we didn't have visitors with us because this was the absolute worst Fish and Chips, Clams that we have ever had period. As a maritimer, I'm actually very embarrassed by the food being served at this extremely popular and busy market. There was though, a local gentleman entertaining with his guitar. I really enjoyed the live music. The service was excellent.

It was beautiful out and I was able to catch an empty picnic table which I would like to suggest, not to put tarter sauce and mayo on the tables on hot days 😅 warm mayo is disgusting. Other than that the food was freshly fried, and I love the portions.

I got the 2 pc fish and chips, local to the bay of fundy which was sooo good and made this my favorite road trip destination so far.

The potato salad is delicious , as is the cole slaw but the slaw is a bit pricey for how small of a serving you get that could use a half or full size up.. as it's cheap to make and not that complicated lol but delicious none the less.

The pop machine didn't work. I ended up having to go back for another coin, heads up it takes 2 coins not 1.

Overall experience, 10 stars but they only allow me to post 5. I'm not jaded by a few minor issues, the overall atmosphere was amazing. I couldn't ask for a better day to sit with my best friend and enjoy the quality time and amazing...

Well… that didn’t go well. Patio and Fish looked really great. But…. At the ordering window was just sort of ignored. Just dumb looking at you. Not a „we’ll be with you shortly“ or the likes. Yep they were busy, but disorganized busy by standing around. Was then finally helped, though somewhat desinterested staff member, ordered the food and two beverages. But the beverages need to be purchased through two can machines. That is understandable, but they only „eat“ coins and don’t take credit card. COVID means no coins. Haven’t used coins in 2.5 years. You know why. The staff member really was overasked, when I proposed to charge the CC $5 extra for the two drinks, give out the cash and problem solved. „we are not allowed to do that“. Then it was clear to me: poorly trained staff, poor management. Management: your facility deserves better. This was totally unnecessary stubbornness. Had to walk away. We had a fantastic meal...
