Absolutely worth the trip to what seemed like the edge of the earth. So good that we went way out of our way to dine there twice! We visited the Atlantic Provinces for a month and a half, and Lawless Lobster had the best lobster rolls and chowder! The proprietors are delightfully friendly and engaging, and the view from their outdoor dining area is fantastic.

The lobster (or crab) was fresh, deliciously seasoned, tender, and plentiful. The bread was crisp and buttery. The chowder was like nothing else I’ve had; thick, rich, loaded with seafood, and oddly (but deliciously) enough sautéed cabbage, which I will now be adding to my home made chowder!

Don’t limit yourself to eating there. Get some carry out for later too. A little drizzle of melted butter brings a cold lobster/crab/crobster roll right back to life, along with the fond memory of enjoying a fine meal and a cliff top view of the...

Absolutely Phenomenal – A Must-Try! We’re New Englanders and have had our fair share of lobster rolls over the years—but the crobster roll from Lawless Lobster blew us away. Hands down, the best roll we’ve ever had. The mix of lobster and crab was perfectly balanced and seasoned with just the right blend of spices, paired with the perfect amount of celery and red onion. All of it came on a bun grilled to golden perfection—crispy on the outside, soft and warm on the inside. Please don’t change a thing.

The hospitality at Meat Cove Campground took the experience to the next level. Everyone was incredibly kind and welcoming, especially the sisters—they truly make you feel like family.

If you’re anywhere near Meat Cove, make this food truck your top priority. You...

We were just at Meat Cove with the family and finding the Lawless Lobster was such a spectacular treat to have great food and great service in the wild north of Cape Breton Island. We can’t say enough about the food served; we are from the Pacific Coast and this was one of the best meals (Lobster, Mussels, Crab, Chowder) we have eaten. Meat Cove and the Lawless Lobster is an incredible memory we will forever preserve. Many thanks to the Lawless Lobster team for their service, history, and sharing they were 8 generations deep in Meat Cove! Truly a must do experience. (And don’t let the park rangers tell you your car can’t make it to Meat Cove, it is a doable road and just think, a food truck can make it and so...

What an amazing spot! We grabbed some chowder here after hiking up to the Meat Cove Overlook and it was some of the best chowder we have ever had! Super creamy, flavorful, and LOADED with seafood (plus the meat from a lobster claw on top!). The two people running the stand were so incredibly friendly as well! Note: They take cash (US or Canadian, which was nice, as we were low on Canadian) as well as e-transfers. Also, the road to Meat Cove is not nearly as bad as people make it seem. It is 100% worth the detour off the Cabot Trail. It was our favorite view from our time on Cape Breton!

This is without a doubt, the best lobster rolls I've had in all of Nova Scotia (and NB too). I must have had at least 30 lobster rolls in the past 2 months and this one made the top 2. Very fresh and generously filled. The lobster is prepared with their own Spice mix which gives it the perfect flavour balance. Pricy but so worth it and the owners are super friendly. Beautiful view! Highly recommend. The road is rocky but I made it through with my 2WD not-suv pulling a camping trailer so - you got this!
