Hillside Restaurant & Pizza — Restaurant in Middlesex Centre

The food was absolutely terrible, very canned taste.. but the under cooked frozen mushy meat in the lasagna topped it off... we let our server know it did taste a bit off.. who let us know it was cooked "FRESH" a few days ago...we replied fair enough but my husband couldn't get through even 1/4 of it and said we were through with that while our children finished eating...... we were surprised there was no apology or any form of a discount when our bill came... so I politely asked the server for a discount on the lasagna as it wasn't edible... she said talk to the owner JIM, who was standing next to me... he looked at me and said the lasagna was good, cooked fresh three days ago...(which i never received the email stating that cooked 3 days ago meant fresh, but i guess it does at the hillside) so they were not going to provide an apology or discount .... I've been managing restaurants for over 10 years - I have never felt the need to complain or write a bad review, but I am soooo upset with this food and customer service.... by the way... my husband had food poisoning from this food ... I'm starting to think they came up with their name at the location of where they get their meat for their main entrees....

I had two favourites that I always chose between but now I have a third. The Fish & Chips is always flavourful with a great batter. I love the juicy, tender Roast Beef Sandwich on a bun with dip. And now that I've tried the Gyros and Greek Salad, my decisions will be harder. The constant trait of all the meals is that the servings are more than generous. My kids get the Chicken Fingers. The "fingers" in the dinner size are like full chicken breasts. They are always too much but we order them anyway because they think they are hungry enough to eat all of them! My husband is a huge fan of the deluxe panzerotti and I like them too.

The owner of this restaurant is always present and welcoming. The take out meals are fresh, hot and ready to go. I highly recommend you try it...

The food is amazing, I don’t believe anyone could honestly argue that. However there are certain individuals include a dirty blonde haired women roughly 36-40 years old. She appears to be the head waitress. That being said in particular, is extremely unprofessional and likes to talk smack publicly about customers in the establishment. I have it all on video of they way they conducted themselves. Words were crossed on both ends which I’m not proud of but again no waitress or bar owner should ever stoop to that level on a customer and they should be able to handle a situation professionally as they are in the work place. Hopefully from this they don’t look like this and shrug their shoulders I hope by the end of the night she realizes how she conducted herself and...
