I had the pleasure of visiting The Escarpment Tea Room on August 4, 2024, and it was an absolute delight. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was wonderfully inviting and homey. The shop itself is charming, creating a cozy backdrop for an afternoon tea experience.
Our host, Teresa, was exceptionally welcoming and attentive. She took the time to explain the various teas available and the assortment of goodies on our tray. Her attention to detail was evident, especially when she made sure that everything for my daughter, who is Celiac, that her tray was gluten-free. It was clear that Teresa genuinely cares about her guests' needs.
The mini finger sandwiches were delicious; I could have easily devoured an entire tray of them. As someone who typically isn’t a fan of sweets, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the baked goods. Teresa's homemade treats were so delightful that I found myself wanting more. Everything was so fresh.
It’s evident that Teresa puts a lot of thought and effort into her creations, making everything from scratch. This dedication to quality and service is what makes The Escarpment Tea Room stand out. It’s a wonderful place with top-notch service, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit. Highly...

The Escarpment Tea Room is located in a house in Milton. When you walk into the house, you are transported back in time. The room is elegant, beautifully decorated, and very cozy. Each table has distinct tea cups, and in the corner, you will find a old fashioned crib with a teddy bear inside. With the fireplace, it simply adds to the charm and warmth of the place.
As a person who enjoys going to "High Teas" and has been to many, this place is definitely worth the drive. The food is homemade and simply delicious. Not to mention the mouthwatering deserts. The price was very reasonable for all the food we had.
I visited this place on my actual birthday, and the attention was fabulous. Thank you for making my birthday day very special.
We will definitely be coming back!!!
Two additional things I would like to add are:
As I mentioned above, the price was very reasonable, but I would charge more because the attention to the detail in the overall food merits it!!! I understand that sometimes things can happen, and we may not be able to make a reservation we have, but please always be mindful and respectful to the owners because, at the end of the day they are out the money and the food...
Read moreRecently attended this establishment for afternoon tea. It is very difficult to get a reservation as booking online is not an option. A telephone call with a detailed message left on voicemail was not returned. Eventually via email a reservation was made. The interior is charming with an authentic afternoon tea decor. The food was fresh and ample with a lot of variety both in the sweet and savoury plates. The chocolate covered strawberry was a nice touch, as was the veggie and dip appetizer plate. Was disappointed in the scone, it was very small and cold (should be served warm). Since scones play a crucial part in the experience it didn’t meet the mark. Also disappointed with the tiny table I was given directly in front of the entrance, the tea room had plenty of empty tables at the time that were much more preferable, this took away from the overall experience! The fact that I was a party of one shouldn’t have been a factor. The server was very pleasant; friendly and chatty. Overall it was a very good experience with room for...
