Came across this restaurant while looking for a place to eat and my friend and I decided we wouldn't mind some Turkish food. Read a couple reviews on Google that service was poor/weird but that food was good so we took a chance. Got the mint lemon drink and a Turkish coffee. The coffee was good, although I've had richer Turkish coffees elsewhere and the mint lemon drink was very minty but also very lemony - super tart by itself but refreshing when you drink it alongside your food (esp spicy food). The bread was amazingly fluffy and perfectly baked (just wish we had gotten some hummus alongside, but we were too full). The Agha mixed Pide is a good choice for if you can't decide on a single Pide - had a variety of toppings (chicken, beef, cheese, spinach) but they weren't evenly spread so I'm not sure if it's meant to be that each slice is eating a different Pide? Still good overall tho. The lamb chops were perfectly cooked, juicy with a good grilled texture, only wish it had been the TINIEST bit more seasoned. Otherwise the bulgur and other veg accompaniments were alright. The pistachio Baklava was good, a little more dense and nutty than your typical baklava and still super sweet, but that's to be expected of a baklava. The Kunafa is my ultimate favourite Turkish dessert and this did not disappoint. Perfect balance of crunchy, soft, sweet and savoury this dessert is a must-try (especially with a Turkish coffee!!). Only thing I will say is service was indeed odd - servers don't seem to have assigned tables so multiple people are taking your order/bringing your items so there is a massive lack of communication and often you just end up repeating yourself or having to clear something up because all servers just seem to be doing...
Read moreWe entered the restaurant and asked the girl at the entrance if we could order. She told us that the place was full. We said, 'Okay, we’ll order and take the food to go' without sitting. Then, suddenly, she told us that a table was available, so we decided to stay.
When I placed my order, I pointed at a picture of appetizers next to kebabs and told her I wanted that meal. She said, 'Okay.'
We were then seated in a spot that was completely unsuitable for dining—there was a photographer and people taking pictures, which made us feel uncomfortable.
When the food arrived, we were shocked to find that the meal consisted only of appetizers, even though we were fasting. A young man came over and asked if everything was okay. I asked him, 'Is this all the food?' I felt insulted because, as someone fasting, I didn’t come just for appetizers.
I told him that I had ordered the full meal. The girl then said, 'No, that was just a picture; the kebabs don’t come with it.' I was stunned—how can they deceive people with misleading pictures?
I felt extremely disappointed, left the food untouched, paid the bill, and walked out. It was a terrible experience. I do not recommend this place at all. This will be the last time I come here. There are other restaurants that truly respect their customers. They use misleading pictures to make people think the meal includes everything shown together, but in reality, they are just trying to deceive you....
Read moreWe are returning customers, we have gone to Agha multiple times over the years with decent experiences. We made reservations for Mother’s Day in advance, paid $120 deposit. When we got there we were seated in the worst spot - in the extended area underneath the speaker which played the birthday song twice.
We were told that they wouldn’t be able to take our orders for 20-25 minutes because the kitchen was busy. We were able to convince them to allow us to order pide while we waited. After about 35 minutes we asked if they could take our order for the main which they did. They brought us a dip platter while we waited which was something but it was a horrible experience for such a special day.
We asked to talk to the manager but he never came. Eventually we saw him and asked if he was the manager. After explaining our frustration he said he did not know it would be so busy on Mother’s Day - this is poor planning and not an acceptable reason. Their desire to make as possible really ruined their customer experience.
The only pleasant part of our experience was our waitress - she was really kind and we felt bad for her because she was dealing with a few tables who were in similar situation- waiting for 35/40 minutes to even place their order.
I received my deposit after 10 days. We had such a horrible experience- there was no point in making a reservation. We regretted picking Agha and will...
