Been coming here since the early 2000s, always loved it, we order cakes multiple times per year and they've always been fresh and delicious. The new owners don't know how to treat customers though, the cake we ordered had very bitter, almost sour icing and after calling the store to talk to her about it she basically blamed us, said the bad, chemical taste would be coming from the icing of the colours we picked (even though we've gotten those colours before with no problem, after tasting everything individually we also confirmed it was the white icing she says she makes in-store, not the coloured icing they order in). After asking her if she could even compromise by making a smaller cake for us instead of the larger size we originally ordered (or getting a refund, since this was a birthday cake), her solution was "bring the cake, I'll scrape off all of the icing and reapply a new layer" - anyone with any experience in cooking can tell you why this is an insane idea. Hopefully some other bakeries in the area treat locals better.
Edit: adding one thing after the owner's response, ignoring all of the PR nonsense that doesn't matter about others loving them (which, great, we did too... previously), only going to address that they're making it seem like we were trying to scam them out of a second cake when, after bringing up the option of making a smaller cake than what was ordered, we ourselves mentioned bringing back the first cake when picking the replacement up, not that we wanted to keep it as well, which was immediately refused, it was never about the money but clearly the point is going over their heads entirely because handing them your money and keeping your mouth shut is what it means to be their...

My whole family has been coming to this bakery for well over 20 years, I went by this morning excited for fresh paninos and fresh cut deli from one of my favorite bakeries. The bread is definitely not fresh from this morning - it tasted like it had been refrigerated overnight and I left with no deli which I knew was going to be an issue because when I initially asked for mortadella and prosuitto the lady literally huffed and said how much? If it's a pain to slice deli then don't serve it. When asked for both to be sliced thin i was told no because it's a waste of product..? I also saw that the old deli menu list was still posted so I asked if there was any soppressata as again it was on the list but not in the fridge, I was told no because it's expensive, no one orders it and they're not going to order it for 1 person as if I was asking for special treatment, a simple "no we do not carry it anymore" would have been more than enough lol not to mention that the lady kept walking away from me to serve other people that walked in after I did without saying "excuse me", without saying "do you mind if I cash them out quickly?" You'd think that if they're going to be operating under the same name they would keep up the same standards, very disappointing to say the least.

I placed an order for $100 cake, which was a customized cake hence I wanted to have everything according to my requirements. This is to say I was communicating with one of the old lady about the pricing and the requirements and suddenly out of the blue, one tall Indian guy can in so I asked in Hindi cake details and he got annoyed and said that is none of your business and I was like ok buddy have a chill. And then because my cake huge hence I wanted a big and nice box and for that the old lady told me it will be 12$ and I agreed on that and finally I was about to make the payment then the tall Indian turbune guy told me $15 and when I mentioned that the old lady told $12 then again he said with extreme rudeness that I said $15 so give $15, and started to yell at the old worker, I felt bad therefore, I did not wanted to make the issue big and paid the due amount and left.
However, I want to assure to general buyers of this shop that there are other fancy bakeries, which are humble enough to have your business so go there instead of insulting yourself here even after paying hefty amount of money for these kind of owners who does not even know the basics of Canadian customer services etiquettes..
