So yesterday for supper we decided to give this place a try. Meaning it was our first time ever ordering there.
Not only is the menu outdated on the internet, but they get mad at you for not knowing it’s outdated.
When my husband went to pick it up, he kindly asked the man “do you not call to let us know it’s ready” the man replied “you should know”. I mean considering it was our first time trying this place how are we going to know when our food will be ready if you don’t tell us.
Then once he rang it up, the price obviously didn’t match. What the online price said so my husband asked how is it so much, The man said , you see here! It’s 2016. Okay than update you Information online.
Other wise it’s false advertising.
He also told my husband if you don’t like don’t take….
Like it’s our fault we didn’t know anything?
Not to mention when my husband also walked into see if it was ready, there was no snow removal so he had to track through snow to get in the door, The man ignored him for about 5 minutes while he was writing on paper and answering the phone.
Food- great. Service - very poor. Speed- well you...
Read moreA takeout only restaurant with a small Canadian Chinese menu, off putting in appearance, parking and friendliness. But if you’re in the mood for it, this place serves tasty HUGE portions of typical favorites: we tried the sweet and sour chicken balls, honey garlic ribs and beef and broccoli. Getting home, we were pleased to find the sweet and sour sauce separate from the crispy chicken balls, and the actual chicken balls were chicken breast with a nice, thin batter. The ribs were perfect honey garlic flavor and really meaty bones, not gristly or fatty. The beef and broccoli was better then any I’ve found locally otherwise - both broccoli and beef cooked perfectly tender and a salty gravy. If I were in town again and craving good ole Canadian Chinese food, I’d stop here. Took a picture after we...
Read moreI really and truly don't understand how this place such a high rating. The chicken balls were very bland, no seasoning or flavour at all. The Szechuan beef was the worst I'd ever had with barely any beef in it. It was mostly all vegetables which is definitely not how a traditional Szechuan beef is supposed to be. The fried rice was okay. The egg rolls were pretty bad, it was a combo of flavours that didn't really work well together.
This restaurant supposedly satisfies the local palette, but if you're from a province that has actual flavourful and good food, this place will be a huge disappointment.
For $50 (the prices on the menu pictures are outdated and lower) and based on the reviews, I expected much better. If this is supposedly the best in town I might as well stop searching for good...
