Restaurant Le Rapide — Restaurant in Mont-Laurier

After reading all the Good reviews here we decided to go and support a local business.

Upon entering, signing in (COVID19 requirements and all) we stood in the entrance way for a while. Two busy employers saw us but did bother acknowledge us or welcome us or tell they will be with us shortly...nothing but "I am too busy to take care of you right now" attitude.

You would think that after all the pain that restaurants have suffered during the pandemic (and still are) that when someone shows up at your door to spend money...you would happily great them. I don't believe there was more than 6-7 partons pres et at the time.

Well now we are spending our $$$ at another local joint that welcomed us...

For anybody passing through Mont- Laurier, a stop at Le Rapide is an absolute necessity. The specialty is fried chicken, and they have mastered it. This is not your usual fast food fried chicken. This chicken is greasy, crispy, salty, delectable, and perfectly moist. All these come together like some kind of magical potion cooked up in the kitchen. The best way to enjoy it is in the restaurant, just minutes after it has come out of the fryer. It's worth a detour if your anywhere nearby. It's always the Secondaire combo for me. Needs better more clear lighting, feels very cramped inside, a person with mobility issue might find it difficult. They play talk radio as background sound and for this the ambiance suffer
