This place came highly recommended from our friends and we were incredibly excited to try it for our anniversary dinner. I will give the chef credit for the food because it was amazing, but the rest of the experience left a lot and I mean a lot to be desired. There were two servers walking around the restaurant all night and they barely spoke to us. They either wouldn't explain each dish or barely explain it (remember this is a tasting menu place where each dish should be explained when its brought). They wouldn't look at us when they came over which is just awkward. It took them 15 minutes to come open our second bottle of wine (its byob). I would have opened it but I didn't have an opener and when I asked one of the servers to borrow hers she didn't have it on her and had to go find one. Now all of this is at least annoying if not out right rude for a restaurant of this stature, but the final straw came at the end. I asked to take our dessert to go and they said they couldn't do that... What kind of restaurant doesn't let you take your food to go??? I also asked for the truffle butter they had taken when I was using the restroom to go (as I was saving it to take home because it was delicious) and they said no again! They went and asked the chef or something if they could after I asked why they couldn't do these things and he said no too!!! For dinner for 2 you are spending a minimum of $207 before tip and at that price range you expect a little more service at the bare minimum. I am appalled at the level of service. I have worked in the service industry for years and I understand people have off days but this was absurd. Never on my worst day as a server or bartender have I ever come even close to providing such low quality service. I hope other people's...
Read moreFirst time going there with family and friends, we did the 7 course meal. FYI this is a BYOB.
The presentation was good and the service was good.
The portions were extremely small and pretentious; especially the main dish. Keep in mind that no vegetables and carbs are served with your main dish. The main dish was lobster - such a disappointment; the menu didn’t specify what part of the lobster it was. We asked the waitress to clarify; she said it was the tail. It was actually HALF A TAIL per person - of a very tiny lobster…
It’s important to mention that the Foie Gras had a overwhelming taste of vanilla; couldn’t taste the Foie.
The food sadly didn’t reflect the price we paid; we left hungry and disappointed. For the record, it was 275$ including 18% tip for two people.
Will not go...
Read moreI know that this a tasting menu... But how can you taste something where you only get one bite at a time...
The portions do not justify neither the price they charge or the portion size. Charing $240 for this is not justifiable (for 2 no alcohol)... This is not fine dining... It's ok food .. I have been into many fine dining institutions in Montreal and they blow your mind... Once again this is not fine dining if I can replicate the taste at home... It's ok food... Very small portions that leaves you wondering why are they charging that much... Am I missing something!!? I don't understand the rave reviews and the high rating given...
