My wife and I are on vacation for a month. Coming from the US to PEI to see the amazing views. Having been out for the day, feeling hungry, we drove past a gas station seeing the seafood shack restaurant. We turned around thinking it has to be good because it's in the middle of nowhere, with plenty of options for seafood and it's next to a gas station. Looking over the limited expensive menu, understanding we are on vacation, everything seems to be expensive, I was shocked at the prices of everything. We were hungry and needed our bellies filled. The lobster roll was nothing more than a hot dog roll maybe cut halfway down the center with a miniscule amount of lobster for 29.00 and a decent portion of fries. The fish dinner portion appeared to be adequate but as you dug in, there was more breading on the fish then there was fish and the breading had a strange taste and the fish was very greasy, but the French fry portion was adequate for 24.00. I want to apologize to the owner but I can't, I have made thousands of reviews online. I am an honest and forthcoming person. She will read this review and try to explain, rebuttal, shocked at the negative review and say something to the fact that she's never had this issue before. Customers give their reviews per their experience. We give our reviews willingly hoping that the business takes into consideration and maybe makes some changes. That's the whole point of giving reviews, it's like teaching a child. There are going to be some good days and bad days. I would say My experience, overall with the young man that waited on us behind the counter was the best part of our experience. The service was a little slow but.... Food quality and portions were very disappointing for the expensive price. Again, I apologize to the owner that will read this and tried to explain, but I need to be honest with myself and other potential customers that would like to know. I understand being a small business owner is difficult, but I hope you take this review in consideration and implement some changes that will ultimately allow you to...
Read moreOMG!! I could not find anything bad about the seafood shack if I tried. A friend posted on FB about the fish and chips. My parents love fish and chips so I said let’s get it for dinner about a month a go. We ordered 4 2 piece fish and chips ( could not eat 2nd piece fish was huge) a grilled chicken wrap, kids fish n chips, kids grilled cheese and a Caesar salad. Well that was a month ago we eat there every week now!! The food is always still hot when we get it home, and the fries are always perfect!! My family was here vacationing about 3 weeks ago and I said you have to try the “shack” They had the lobster roll, bar clams, kids meals, fish and chips and raved about how delicious everything was, how much food there was. Same as my family does every time they walked away full. Yesterday a wonderful Friend and fiancé were visiting from Ontario and we were in Charlottetown and deciding where to go for dinner, I was naming off restaurant’s and said if y’all want fish n chips you have to try the “shack”.They were so pleased with my choice of restaurants to eat, they had the fish and chips I had my usual grilled chicken wrap ( I can only eat 1/2 and always eat other half th r next day) well worth the drive from Charlottetown! When I went up to pick up once, I brought a bag as I walk with a cane. The owner helped me out and told my that when I come to pick up I just have to call them and let them know I’m there and they will bring everything to me. They make their own tarter sauce which is to die for. The staff are all so friendly and very eager to help. Last night was the first night I ate in and as we were finishing up the Owner came out to all 3 tables and asked if everything was ok. Like I said I can’t not find a single thing that’s not amazing about the...
Read moreMy husband has been anticipating going to the Seafood Shack and because we were on the island, we decided to venture out and try it. My husband had the Lobster Roll and cup of Seafood Chowder and I had the Lobster Wontons and a cup of Seafood Chowder. The Lobster Roll was amazing as was the Chowder. The wontons were a complete fail in my opinion, but each to his own. While the Seafood Chowder was delicious and full of seafood, it was served in a paper cup and at $19 per cup, I expected to be served in something better than that. If I am paying restaurant prices for food, I expect to eat with dishes and flatware, not plastic and paper. And as for the service, the only person that did anything was the chef. It is set up like a fast food restaurant where you order at the counter and then go and pick up your food. I do not leave a tip in that type of establishment because there was no table service. I am providing this review with the utmost respect to the chef, but if you expect to draw people from the city and across the country, you should rethink your presentation. Dinner for two was over $100. I...
