Chez Leo’s Seafood Restaurant in Shediac, New Brunswick, the lobster capital of the world, is a must-visit for anyone who enjoys fresh seafood. We ordered the Seafood Fruits de Mer platter on the recommendation of our server, Renelle, and it was outstanding. The sampler included scallops, big shrimp, fried clams, and fried haddock, all cooked to perfection. The fries were hot and crisp, and the coleslaw was fresh and flavourful. It was a generous plate and excellent value for the quality.

We chose to sit on the patio, which gave us a wonderful view of the water and the single-lane bridge. Watching the bridge traffic while enjoying fresh seafood created a relaxed and memorable atmosphere that added to the experience.

The service at Chez Leo’s was exceptional. Renelle was friendly, attentive, and professional. Her suggestion of the Seafood Fruits de Mer was exactly right, and she also shared her own favourite dish, the poutine, which gave the visit a personal touch. She made us feel welcome and well cared for throughout the meal.

Chez Leo’s combines delicious food, great service, and a location that is easy to recommend. In a town known as the lobster capital of the world, this restaurant stands out for more than lobster. The seafood was fresh, the portions were generous, and the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming.

If you are visiting Shediac or passing through New Brunswick, Chez Leo’s Seafood Restaurant should be at the top of your dining list. Five stars...

We visited this place because of the reviews and as we drove by the place the number of vehicles in the parking lot seemed to support the reviews.

Maybe people in this region have different expectations but we have no idea how this place gets great reviews.

To be fair it was incredibly busy and we had to wait for 40 minutes to get our food. The staff worked hard and we're very polite.

We had the clams, lobster club, shrimp, chicken, fish sandwich, fries and poutine.

It may be because it was so busy and they could not keep the oil hot enough but everything tasted greasy.

The French fries seemed like they were using frozen French fries. This was disappointing as we really appreciate fresh potatoes and since fries are an important part of poutine they affected the poutine as well.

The clams and shrimp were chewy and tasted over cooked but appeared very pale as if they we're under done.

The lobster club sandwich was okay but nothing special.

The chicken was fried for too long. So long that it dried the meat and the bones became soft.

All in all. We were surprised to see this kind of product coming from a place as highly reviewed as this one.

We could not recommend this place nor will we eat...

I wouldn’t even give them 1 star. Ordered a chicken burger, it comes with totally wilted lettuce, the burger was very low quality, as was the bun, the fries clearly from frozen and tasteless, coleslaw looked much like ....vomit.... When my guest told them and showed them the burger I couldn’t even eat after the first bite the manager approached our table and questioned why the burger was not acceptable, after I told him he proceeded to argue with me that “ So it was only the lettuce that was wrong? Well chicken burgers shouldn’t have lettuce on it anyways ( the waitress suggested it, I assumed it did normally) , he asked me to tell him what was wrong with it ( again) ... I told him once more that over all it was really gross and I couldn’t eat it... I couldn’t believe he was standing there arguing with me about this ! Very over priced, very rude manager and very disgusting...

The service was great, a down home east cost feel from when you first arrive, the restaurant sits right on the water, the dinning room is simple but lots of natural lighting and great clean atmosphere. The food! The batter on the deep fried clams was perfect! It was nice light crispy and not overly greasy, it really added to the flavour of the clams! The portions are fair based on the price. The lobster roll was perfect, the bun toasted outside soft inside, great texture, the lobster was done perfectly not to much mayo to take away from the lobster taste but enough to really bring the whole role together in a perfect harmony. I grew up on the east coast moved to Alberta and came back for a visit, this place check off every box I was dreaming about for the last 15 years!

We were craving for more lobster rolls and found it in the town of Shediac that also features the Giant Lobster! The lobster roll here featured relatively fresh lobster stuffed into a small toasted bun. At $14.75 before fries, it’s a great deal nowadays. We also followed the local’s advice and ordered the fried clams and fried scallops as well. The clams were fluffy and crisp, and the fried scallop was plump & fresh. They’re actually known for their award winning clams and that’s no surprise to me. We also had their kids meal under $5. The owner here seemed quite friendly chatting with regular customers and even waiving as we left the establishment. It’s neat that this town is bilingual mostly French and we noticed the proud Acadian flag inside.
