Rendez Vous Take Out & Ice Cream Bar — Restaurant in New Brunswick

Well, after years of buying Fish and Chips for myself and my husband every season (every other week), we have decided on principle never to use this place again. Here’s the reason; as I’m spending the evening alone tonight I decided to pop in and order something a bit different this time. All I wanted was a Poutine ($9.95) and I asked for 1 Piece of Fish (priced on their board as $4.95 for extra piece of Fish). But I was told that because I wasn’t ordering it with chips, that 1 piece of Fish was $6:95. I explained to the owner I WAS buying chips (which cost $9.95 as a poutine), so surely they didn’t need to charge me an extra $2 for the fish?? However, the owner insisted that I had to pay $6:95 for a piece of fish even if it was to go with a poutine. Now don’t get me wrong, of course I could afford to pay the extra $2!! But was I going to in principle? Was I hell!! So the result = 2 regular customers lost (who spent $15:95 EACH every other week). You do the math. Bad business sense? Yup, I’d say. We won’t ever go...

We recently stopped at Rendez Vous Takeout in Grande-Digue, New Brunswick, after noticing it several times during our travels between Cocagne and Shediac. Our craving for fish and chips led us to this charming spot, and it did not disappoint!

The fish and chips were absolutely amazing! The fish was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, exactly how it should be. The fries were fantastic, golden and delicious, complementing the fish perfectly.

On top of the great food, the prices were very affordable, especially by 2024 standards. It's a rare find to get such high-quality food at such reasonable prices these days.

(FRESH CUT FRIES!) Take the time to get some food from this place. Whether you want fish & chips, clams, pizza or Korean BBQ combo (my super favorite) , they have awesome food. Call them before and order. The staff there is new this year, but they are getting into the groove and deserve praise! They give you a pretty accurate time to pick up. No matter what I've gotten from them , their food is consistently incredibly tasty. and feels very unique from any other takeout in the region. They are very generous with their portions too. I'm sometimes weary of menus that are too diverse, but like I said before, if its a fish & chip or beef Bulgogi with a side order of pork dumplings, I know I'm having an awesome meal.
