Gull & Herring (New River Take Out) — Restaurant in New Brunswick

This place is pretty much beach food perfection. All the classics that you want on a beach day, from beer or wine to hotdogs and burgers. The price are reasonable and all of the food is cooked in a way that you know they love and care about what they are doing. Super crispy lightly battered fries, and hot dog buns that are toasted in the pan with some butter or something just for that extra something. Little details like this that you love to see and legitimately make the food so much better. It's just a quality beach restaurant blessing.

Also worth mentioning that the staff are the best. We asked what time they close and they told us 7pm, but that we could even walk in at 7 and order if we wanted. They were also very accommodating to my friend who is severely gluten intolerant and they pan fried the fish.

Only critique is that the dogs could be upgraded a bit. They're pretty small...

When this place was originally reopened a few years ago many people including myself couldn't stop going on about how great it was. Each visit has been a seriously diminished experience ever since. I'm a local and I'm intimately familiar with what fair seafood prices are and I can confidently tell you that they're going to rob you blind. Not just that but they've gone from great portions at a fair price to absolutely pitiful portions for more money. $4 for a big8 water? The whole case likely cost $4-$6.

The wait was reasonable considering how busy it was and the front desk staff were pleasant. $93 for 3 adults from a takeout just made...

We stopped by New River Beach while on vacation from another province. This quaint little place has a welcoming atmosphere and I really enjoyed all their beach themed decor. The staff was friendly, and the food absolutely divine. We weren't expecting much when we ordered, but it was so delicious and delightfully crispy, that it far exceeded our expectations! The prices were also quite reasonable, compared to what we're used to at home. We got chicken fingers with fries and a side of deep fried pickles. The pickles were the best I've ever had and I will be dreaming of them until I can one day return down here....
