Went in yesterday, Monday evening around 6 . It was busy but about 7-8 tables still vacant. We were greeted right away and shown to table in the middle area. I went directly to the bathroom and when I came back quickly choose what I wanted to eat in about 5 minutes...menu down. A group of 3 arrived and were seated as well as a couple arrived and sat at a booth. The waitress...not sure if she was ours but she kept walking by us checking on customers, she went over the table of three got their drink order then left but as she walked by the couple said...I’ll b with you in a moment. My husband and I look at each other...we were here before both those tables...let’s just wait and see. Back with drinks for table of 3 then over to the couple for drink orders. While she was gone another party of 3 arrived...sat right beside us. The waitress brings drinks to couple turns to the new table of three and says...I’ll b right with you. Then proceeds to take food order from first table of three. Places order then over to the couple...food order...places order then drink order from new table of three. So we left. Not sure if she was our server but we saw another server way over the other side but no one else ! Crazy way to run a restaurant....it should b noted who comes in first...maybe the sweet greeter could have be given more responsibility and recognize the fact that each time she brought in a table of people, we still were not served even a drink. We were driving all the way from NS and were tired and thirsty and hungry. Big mistake Big Stop. Oh and by the way....we are staying across the street for 2 days but we will not be going back across the street to your restaurant...we will likely drive into town. Theresa Jackson from...

Here we go again, when reviewing this Irving restaurants I must admit that the people of New Brunswick is very complacent with Irving or their choices when it comes to places to eat are very narrow. This is the third one of these places that I been to and it just doesn't get better, in this one I ordered a Philly cheese-steak wrap, (absolutely my fault) I should have known better since I've experienced a lot of tragic wraps transformations in many of these avant garde restaurants and no one came out good. In this case a small wrap stuffed with a mixture of something they call steak with a cheese that tested more like a processed cheese, correct me if I'm wrong, but still they need to use a better cheese, french fries must be in the abundant side in this town since they packed the tray with lots of them, (I'd prefer a little more wrap) the case is that all this little mistakes are greatly dissimulated by the hoagies rolls but when they use a wrap, my Lord, it turns into something that shouldn't leave any kitchen at any time, well in the same kitchen someone had the great idea that it could be made better, and splashed the stuff in the wrap with excessive barbecue sauce and that's when a very distant possibility of a good taste wrap was utterly defeated. Notably small portions seems to be the trend in most restaurants and this one is not an exception, of course this wrap price was in the flying high level, and that's where it went flying to the closest...

....Gouged for roughly $20 in my last two visits...

I think I might be done with the Big Stop for any future outings. I’m so annoyed right now. (I go there almost every weekend with my dad for breakfast)

Last weekend I asked for an all meat skillet which apparently wasn’t on their menu anymore, and they changed the name of it and it just comes with one meat. So because of that they charged me 4.80 for the other two meats. About $10 on top of the $20 for the skillet. (Wasn't informed of this when ordering. Id always said "Skillet, no vegetables, just meets" and it came correctly at the price on menu.

Today I ordered the eggless breakfast that I normally get for 7.99. She (who I found out later in this story was the manager) took my order as so, and when I got the bill i was charged 14.99 for the traditional breakfast.

I said to her that’s not right, I got the eggless breakfast. She said yeah we changed it from our menu because it doesn’t meet cost, sorry.

I was like okay well I wasn’t told, I don’t think I should pay this. She goes “I’m sorry” .. I say okay can I speak to a manager or something because that’s twice the order cost than I was expecting, she said I’m the manager and there’s nothing I can do about it, sorry.

Like she even took the order and didn’t inform me of it. So for $14.99 I got 3 pieces of bacon, and a few hashbrowns and toast....

Above and beyond service. I took my mum out to the big stop tonight, and the server we had (Shelby) gave some of the best service I have received at any restaurant. But she did it in a way many people might not have noticed. All she asked was if I wanted beef or Turkey gravy, once my mum heard this her eyes lit up as my mum is actually allergic to Beef so she hasn’t been able to have gravy at any restaurant for the last couple of years since moving out of Newfoundland. This simple question allowed my mum to get the meal she truly wanted, and all I heard the entire time was how she enjoyed this place. You made my 65 year old mum smile like a kid on Christmas… Thank you Shelby.

OK, I'm from BC, but visit my mother-in-law who lives in Florenceville, about an hour north of here. We've been stopping here for years, and it has never failed to impress me - the food and service are legendary in my opinion. Great location just off the highway, lots of parking, and lots of gas pumps available to fuel up before or after eating. You'll notice a long line of people in a queue for seating in the restaurant - that'll occasionally occur, but don't let it deter you -it's a large restaurant and turnover of patrons is fairly quick.

Irving Big Stop restaurants are way better than any Husky Esso, glad to be back in Eastern Canada! We wanted to enjoy a classic diner breakfast today for our last day on our road trip across Canada and this definitely ticked all the boxes. Endless coffee, BIG portions, friendly waitress and good value. They had the place decorated for the holidays and Christmas music was playing. They’re open 6am-11pm, so great if you arrive late or need to hit the road early, seemed to pick up around 8:30am.
