Wimpy's Diner — Restaurant in New Tecumseth

Edited to change to 1 star after sitting with how poor of service we got & speaking with others. I will never go back and advise anyone I know to stay far away from this location.

The morning staff Monday to Friday is absolutely amazing. They know our order and are always fantastic even when swamped with highschool kids!

We came in tonight around 6:20 we got a menu and got seated. Being regulars we had a very good idea of what we wanted to order. The waitress came over took our drink order, we advised her we were ready to order our food and she walked away while telling us she’ll be right back.

She brings us our drinks and again we try to order and she refuses and states she’ll be back in one second she just has to give out food for a customer. Ok no problem.

Over 20 minutes later there’s no sign of her return, so I go over to the cash wait in line behind a couple paying and ask if I can place my order.

I was told no there are several people ahead of me that still need their orders taken first and I can’t just jump the line. I explained how this is a first for me I’ve never had a waitress refuse to take my order, I come there regularly and if the waitress is taking my drink order I’ve always been able to place my food order. Again she states well there are several people ahead of me and I need to wait. To me that just seems extremely odd, I feel as though she couldn’t handle the work load and would rather all customers just went home so she didn’t have to work. The store was not overly busy, not nearly even as close to as busy as it gets during breakfast and the high school rush. Went for breakfast just after New Years. First waffle ordered was cold, replacement was not nice; grainy and dense, tasted like gluten free product not a Belgian waffle. Eggs Benedict sauce was cold and tasted like mayo. Waitress tried to say that was the traditional way, cannot find that recipe anywhere! (She also seemed annoyed when we raised these issues.) It was my first time at a wimpy's and the diner looked nice retro feel staff was nice but the food that I received was very laughable in terms of portions for the smothered chicken it was 2 small full bite pieces for the chicken it seemed like they ran out and served what was left which is ridiculous compared to how it was advertised in comparison it looked like 2 pieces of 3 bottle caps put together so my visit was not satisfactory sadly and not sure if I would visit another wimpy's to...
