Jolly Fryer — Restaurant in North Algona Wilberforce

We used to actually look forward to that stop in the middle of much of the weekend travelling we do. Burgers are pretty good, chips are fine and there are a few outdoor places to sit. That was until today when they messed up an order and then it became something out of the twilight zone. We'd ordered 3 burgers, one without cheese (son reacts badly) They all came with cheese. – No biggie we politely went back to the wicket and told the girl of the mistake - we offered one of the untouched cheese burgers back, expecting a "oh sorry b'out that. we'll do one right up". Instead the girl, still friendly, said that they couldn't take food back inside the window. We said ok, then she says "I don't know what to do". We're all in mild shock and suggest that they need to correct their mistake. She replies "well fine but we'll have to make a new burger" and we're nodding, Yep, that's pretty much how that would work! Then she add's "I'll have to charge you". Now we're wait, what? Maybe it's this poor girl's first day - she asks us to wait and seconds later the window slides open and here stands the "Not so Jolly fryer", I call her that because she looks really, really not Jolly! She looks us over and angrily belches out " You want me to take the loss!" we're too shocked for words, and before we can reply she angrily slams the window shut. Queue Twilight Zone theme. I highly recommend trying the poutine and chicken wrap both are incredibly tasty and full of fresh, well-balanced flavors. The quality of the ingredients really stands out, and everything is prepared with great attention to detail.

No public washrooms. Made it be known I'm early and showed up as they were opening. But the on sign was on...so what did you expect? 🤔 I was confused.
