Kalisi Cafe — Restaurant in North Cowichan

I can't say enough good things about the newly minted Kalisi Cafe in Crofton. It is such a gift to the community. The kid's play area is absolutely beautifully set up and feels like such a warm, welcoming and positive space. Every detail has been considered and there are endless things to discover. The dedication to creating a safe place for all kiddos (with special attention to neurodiverse needs) is so wonderful and exciting to find. We also had the opportunity to speak with the owner, and she was incredibly lovely and welcoming, and you can tell how much of her heart she has poured into this new project. Kalisi cafe is a childhood dream. The cafe has been tastefully renovated with a simple drink menu, thoughtful in-house pastries, and amazing service, but the real magic is the children's play area.

You'll step into a room filled with toys: sensory stimulation, enrichment play, books, and montessori. There's themed rooms, including a "calm room" with dimmed lights, ear muffs, and weighted blankets, and an ocean room. The entire space is detail-oriented, naturally bright, fun, and clearly built with love.

I went with my infant niece and will most definitely be back once she's older. The play room is a no-phone zone (hence why no pictures), so you'll have to see it...

The coffee here is amazing and they have mouth watering soup and sandwich deals, and their baked goods are amazing! Cedric's has a hand drum and guitar you can hang out on if you so desire, and a beautiful "back yard" per say that is available to open up for musicians and artists of all kinds.
