Pub de La Cie Vilandré — Restaurant in North Hatley

After an afternoon of strolling and canoe repair, my good friend and I headed out to find supper in North Hatley. The first real warm day brought plenty of visitors to the treasure of a village on the shores of Lake Massawippi.

We elected to dine at La Cie Vilandre, an eatery just off the beaten path, 300 feet down the Capleton Road heading toward Lennoxville.

It was a Saturday night after 7:00 so the hordes had departed. My friend and I had the handsome bar to ourselves. The bartender/server was a very professional and friendly host. He got us drinks and took our food orders. It was a burger night for the two of us. I went with the vegetarian option. Though the price of $24 dollars would have been absurd 5 years ago, today it is common. The burgers were accompanied by a salad and fries. I would call my burger interesting, more cheesy than vegetarian, but tasty nonetheless. The salad and fries were none too oily. Points awarded here!

Just a short walk from the Auberge Chocolaterie, this was our best meal in North Hatley. A wonderful selection of beers on tap and cocktails. Good place for a family meal as they offer cheeseburger and mac and cheese for kids. The chicken wings are so tasty, crispy and not too greasy. I also enjoyed the honey hot goat cheese sandwich and my husband enjoyed the halloumi burger. We ended our meal with the carrot cake…holy moly this was perfect! Light and not overly sweet with a perfect hazelnut crunch and cinnamon.

Service was prompt and our server accommodated us by speaking English and sharing her recommendations. Food came out quickly.

I went here 3x in one week while visiting (which happens 1-2x a year) After growing up in town I never thought I would see the day for a place in North Hatley with excellent food and drinks (craft beer, wine) Luckily Vilandre is now that place.
