Armando's Pizza - A Family Review

(Our quest to find the best pizza in Windsor)

Review #6 (See Maestro's Pizza for review #5)

$28 for 12 slices and 2 cans of coke.

Armando's is right on Riverside and I'm sure during warm months is a nice location to dine in at. The inside is modern and has an atmosphere of class to it. Picking up take out is off to the side. Staff were friendly and my order was on time.

Daughter 7 - Neutral (Side thumb)

Son 17 - (harsh critic)

Pre taste - 9/10 Cheese - 7 Sauce - 6 Crust - Rarely eats Overall - 7

Wife - (Relaxed critic)

Pre taste - 10 Cheese - 9 Sauce - 6 Crust - 7 Overall - 8

Dad (Neutral critic)

Pre taste - 10 - The pizza literally looked perfect in my opinion.

Cheese - 7 - The cheese doesn't really stand out too much.

Sauce - 7 - Same as the cheese. Some slices, the sauce was lacking.

Crust - 6 - The pizza barely has a crust. Like a bed without a pillow. Not too bad though.

Overall - 7 - I came in expecting Armando's to be one of the top contenders to have the best pizza in Windsor. At one point they may have. The pizza is pretty good. Definitely not the best spot though. Armando's is a good choice if you're in the area and don't feel like searching or going somewhere farther than you're willing to. The price is average. I would recommend Armando's if you want decent pizza for a reasonable price. I would not recommend it if you're looking for the best option.

Terrible customer service. I called to place an order for pickup(Sunday at 2pm) he told me 20 minutes, great. I have my baby in the stroller and enter through the front doors, the automatic door did not work. Once inside the waitress acknowledges us and asks for how many? I said oh I’m just here for pick up. Her tone and demeanour change immediately and she sends us to the side of the building. Had the man on the phone told me to come to the side of the building for pick up all could have been avoided here. I bring the stroller to the side of the building into an entrance we hardly fit into and is extremely hot. There is a girl doing dishes that sees us but does not acknowledge us, fine, as I assume she is just the dishwasher and god forbid to simply just say hello or someone will be right with you is far too much to handle while operating a dishwasher. We stand there for 15 minutes my baby is now screaming, still no one. Finally a man appears and says hello! She’ll be right with you and addresses the dishwasher. She comes over and says hello like we hadn’t just been standing there for 20 minutes. To boot, $12.99 for 4 baby size arancini that looked like they were packaged by my baby. I will never come...

My food was delicious until I found a long coarse black hair in my noodles and around my fork. Had my boyfriend grab a waitress she asked if I’d like another plate. Now I said yes since I was only a couple bits into my food. While I was waiting she came back around to tell me if would be out soon and if I wanted anything. I ask for another drink. My drink showed up and maybe 15-20 minutes later after I found the hair in my food it came out and she pleasantly told me. Don’t worry we took the drink off the bill. Now I work in the restaurant world. And not a chance would that fly where I work. We paid our bill which was over $100 for the two of us. I called to complain since I never received an apology about the hair or anything and they only took a $9 drink off our bill. He said “sorry you have such short character, and but we only have 2 bald guys working in the kitchen. So I wonder how it got there!” As if I put a black hair in my own food. Im blonde and had my hair pulled up in a bun. Rude manager and wait staff needs more training on how to handle situations better. Plus the kitchen staff should be in hairnets . Gross won’t be back. Unless I’m looking for hairy noodles I’ll...
