Never ordering from here again. Customer service is very poor, zero if I could give them that rating. I ordered food from here for the first time through skip for my break. I work in a hospital. The address was explained in the description also. They did not deliver the food. I called the restaurant to ask for help. They are not willing to help and adviced me to take it up with the skip the dishes, they gave me the number to call. Despite me explaining my situation. Skip doesn’t receive any calls anymore so I called the restaurant back. The simons kitchen restaurant is now ignoring my calls; despite me being polite and professional with them in attempt to address the issue. You can refer to their response to this message as an example. They seem to be indifferent that their customer has paid for their order that they did not even receive. First time experiencing such encounter from a restaurant. I am rather disappointed for the way I was treated as a customer. “Thai plate” in Orillia is a much more professional with great service/food; I have not experienced any problems with them. If you are looking for thai...
Read moreMy wife has ordered from here many times and their food as always been great. (Minus the rice)
Today with my wife being out of town, she decided to treat me and order me the peanut chicken sauce with a mango smoothie. I was very excited for my dinner. It showed up and the meal was not what was ordered.
The rice was not soft and undercooked; and the meal did smell good however it was not peanut chicken. It tasted something similar to a red curry. I then called to make sure there wasn’t an error on the order. The employee just told me “you have bad taste buds” then said that next time he will give us a discount of a mango smoothie. I then expressed my feelings about wanting the proper meal I ordered and they finally said next time they will give me a free meal instead.
I got a flavourless mango smoothie that tasted like iced milk, and a incorrect meal! (I know because we ordered the peanut chicken sauce many times) and the employees answer was I have bad taste buds. They never even asked if they could send me the proper meal.
This is terrible...
Read moreMy wife and I are of asian decent and have been living in the Orillia for the past 6 years,. We have dined at every asian cusine restaurant, including Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Thai, Chinese. None would score more than 5 out of 10 in terms of taste. That is, until today when we tried Simon's for the first time. We were very pleasantly surprised at the authenticity and taste experience. The Vietnamese spring rolls were as good as we have had anywhere in the GTA. The beef Pho soup was equally delicious. Marvellous broth, perfectly prepared rice noodles, ample beef topping. We ordered the Thai basil fried rice to go and hope it is also on point. Really interesting menu. A mix of Vietnamese, Thai and Cantonese dishes. We intend to try many on return visits and bring along friends as well.
The service is efficient and friendly. Decor is nothing to write about, only seats about 12 people. But the taste is head and shoulders better than other asian restaurants in Orillia, bar none. Give it a try. I think you will be...
