This is a great example of prompt, friendly service meets consistent and delicious food. We managed to get the only open table at 7 p.m. just as the dinner rush ended. Prices were very affordable so we grabbed extra food to go. I had the veggie curry, she had the veggie glass noodle dish. I think I would have eaten most dishes on the menu, they all looked fantastic. The spring rolls were perfect. The mango juice was good. The Thai iced milk tea did not meet expectations for either of us. My iced coffee also was not great, but sure kept me awake for the drive home. Next time we will stick to the bubble tea. The chairs were quite worn and need replacing. Staff were almost too attentive because on two occasions different staff came to take our order after it had been given. Replacing the chairs and organizing the servers a bit would erase any doubt that this is the best Thai restaurant in the Orillia-Muskokas!

We all thought the portion size was small for the price. My Pad See Ew was just a bit too savoury and I normally like saltier food. Asked for little spice and the food was too spicy. Maybe miscommunication. Def could have used more noodles which would have balanced out the taste and made for a more filling meal. For $15 to $16 there really should be more food. Fix that and I'd recommend. Flavours are there, but it was way too salty. I would try again to see how consistent the experience would be. I liked the service of the gentleman with the shaved head. Kind of quiet but very polite and helpful. Place has potential for where it is. We are a fam of Asian Canadians Korean and Chinese originally from Malaysia where the food is amazing. Wife liked her curry dish fried rice was average.

The Real Deal - Fresh, Flavourful and Authentic Thai Cuisine This is a long-overdue review of what has become my go-to favourite Thai restaurant. I've visited about 5 times since discovering it around two years ago. That might not seem like many visits, but there's something you need to know. I don't live in Orillia. I don't even live close to Orillia. I live near Peterborough, about a 2-hr drive away. But I always make sure to find a reason to pass through Orillia a couple of times a year so I can visit Thai Plate. Why would I drive all the way to Orillia for Thai food? The answer is really simple. I've never experienced Thai cuisine I enjoyed ss much as Thai Plate. I've tried Thai restaurants in York Region, in the Peterborough area, and many in Toronto. But I've not found one that compares to Thai Plate. It's my understanding that Thai Plate was once actually located in Toronto, and that the owners opened the Orillia location as a second one. At some point later, they decided to make the move to Orillia, and close the Toronto location. So what is it that makes the food here stand out for me? Two things. First, very fresh and high-quality ingredients, which produce more intense flavours. Second, more complex recipes, containing more ingredients, resulting in more intricate flavours. Sure, the names of the dishes are familiar. But one taste tells you they contain many more ingredients than you've experienced before when eating the same dish elsewhere. If you've never tried Thai food, you're in luck. And If you already know you love Thai food as much as I do, Thai Plate is a must-try. I highly...

Went here for the fist time. We had lunch on a Wednesday. Restaurant is an older establishment in a fairly old but well kept building. The inside is clean with a good number of tables. Not overly large, but adaptable to different size parties. I ordered from the lunch menu. I had Cashew shrimp which included a mango salad starter and two spring rolls with the meal. The other guests with me had Cashew Chicken, Chicken Pad Thai and Green Curry Veggie tofu. It did not take long to receive our salads. They were refreshing and tasty. Our meals arrived just as we were finishing our salads. I expected to only get a few shrimp with my meal but it came with lots of shrimp over an assortment of fresh vegetables. The rice pile comes formed as a star, plus spring rolls and a tiny bowl of sweet chili sauce to dip with. I'm glad I was hungry when I got there because the portions were very generous and tasted great. Our waitress checked in regularly. Place was fairly busy inside and had a steady flow of take out orders. Price was very reasonable for what you got. There were only two slight negatives. Coffee was too strong according to my fellow guest. Nice solid leather chairs have little support in the padding. You drop right in. But overall did not become uncomfortable like I thought they might. I hope to be back again soon and try something else out. Everyone enjoyed...

Last night I had the absolute worst restaurant experience I think I will ever have.

My family ordered takeout at 5:20pm and was told that it would be ready for pickup in 40 minutes. We arrived at 5:45pm and I went inside to wait for our order to be ready.... I sat in that restaurant for 1 HOUR AND 20 MINUTES - a total of 2 HOURS from the time we ordered, and was never even offered as much as a glass of water. I was told not once, not twice, but three times that our order was "almost ready" or that it was "coming up next" etc. At the 1 hour waiting mark they asked me pay the bill... to which all of the items remained FULL PRICE. I asked one final time "WHERE IS OUR ORDER" and the final response I received after waiting for that amount of time, physically in the restaurant, was "I don't know what happened, it looks like we have lost your order" with an added 'oops' shoulder shrug. I immediately demanded a refund to which they gave, rightfully so.

All in all - I love supporting local businesses and I was a casual diner here.... But I will NEVER be going back to this establishment due to the absolute lack of...
