My bf and i decided to try this restaurant for our 6th anniversary, SO happy we did :) Environment: Fancy, buisness casual, romantic, simple, elegant Food: We had a select menu to choose from that evening, there were great dishes listed. We started with the cheese appetizer which was very rich in flavour, sweet, paired nicely with the white wine we ordered too. We then had mains, chicken skewers, fresh grilled veggies and my date had pork dish, with veggies, both also came with creamy, dill mashed potatoes. for dessert we split a lava cake Staff: our waitress was great! Diligent, checked in on us frequently (even when it got busy) she was wonderful, polite and courteous. Pricing: a bit costly, but this place uses such fresh ingredients, each dish is cooked wonderfully, good flavour, good seasonings, great options even on a pre set menu. The price is not outrageous, it does feel a bit like a fancier bistro and both my date and i felt pricing was ideal for the experience and food we received :) we will be going back in the near future. ps, they have a cute lemon bar where they get drinks from, it's adorable! They also have a huge grill pit and music playing, you can watch the chefs cook food on the grill it smells amazing from the parking lot Thank you Devlins for making our anniversary special we both enjoyed the meal and visit. :)

It was our first time coming to this restaurant on the recommendation of neighbours and friends. Our hostess greeted us immediately at the door and acknowledged our reservation. She seated us promptly. It took a while for our server to come to the table as the restaurant was suddenly flooded with seatings. Our cocktails and wine were delicious. We then had a new server. She was very busy. Her recommendations for the appetizers were delicious. We enjoyed the fresh PEI oysters, trio of soup and the Caesar salad. Two people in our party order the specials. They were tasty and warm. Albeit the mains came an hour after we had finished our appetizers. The duck dish was a bit bland and the red snapper with mussels was overcooked and barely warm (except for the broth). I think we caught them on an off-night. Go for the drinks and appetizers. It was a little pricey for the uneven service and the mixed results on the entrees.

I have eaten good food in Norfolk. I am a spoiled NY foodie who doesnt care what I pay, as long as I get the taste that I want. Devlins is without question....the best in Norfolk County. There is no other way to put this. I had the pleasure of attending a party that they where catering and Mr. Ryan Devlin and his staff worked tirelessly. But the spread was equal to nothing I have ever enjoyed so much. The care in preparing and presenting the food is only matched by the flavor....perfectly seasoned. NOTHING was bland. The party was amazing, but I have to say, the food clearly stole the show. Amazing, I need to eat in the restaurant now. The prices are worth it given NYC and Toronto pricing for food far less competent than what Devlins can deliver. I finally ate at the restaurant for Valentine’s Day. Quite frankly? I can’t wait to get back there...the food is awesome. I love the service and the food does not miss!

My husband & I had reservations for dinner to celebrate our anniversary and the service, food and atmosphere were perfect, as usual. Living down the street, we have been coming here for over 20 years and have always enjoy it.

Our appetizers, the shrimp cocktail and honeycomb crusted Gunshill brie cheese with plum compote & roasted garlic were absolutely delicious! For main courses, my husband had a steak with gorgonzola cheese and he kept raving about it, how it melted in his mouth, saying it is the best he's ever had, comparing it to steaks he's eaten all across North America. I had their surf & turf burger topped with Hollandaise sauce and it was so incredibly big I had to eat it with a knife & fork, without the bun. The onion rings accompanying it were truly the best I've ever had! We've always loved the food, but tonight the chef outdid himself. The portions were large and we'll be enjoying leftovers tomorrow. We were also treated to a special dessert for our anniversary.

Karen & Georgie looked after us, they have always gone out of their way to make our evenings special. Phyllis, the new sommelier, selected a perfect wine for me, I'm so disappointed it is such a limited quantity. She was so knowledgable about the vineyards and very interesting to listen to. I wanted to try all the wines she recommended.

Ryan Devlin, the chef/owner, is not just a great business man, he is all for the community as well. Watching him during the Covid lockdowns, he did everything he could to support local businesses and encouraged others to as well. He also used his own business to support those less fortunate. He has had a Charity Bread on the menu for a few years that is used to support a local charity selected by a different staff member each month.

I highly recommend Devlin's Country Bistro. You will definitely enjoy your evening and come away full...

Hiring Devlin's to cater our wedding in August 2024 was an experience that we, and our guests will never forget. From our initial consultation it quickly became clear that Ryan and his catering team are incredible - with a vision that far exceeds any other catering company we were in touch with.

We enjoyed a date night at the restaurant in Mount Pleasant and quickly scheduled our tasting with friends. On the night of the tasting, Ryan made sure to not only say hello, but to sit down and tell us more about his story and his philosophy on food which made the entire experience feel less transactional and much more friendly and honest. We were sold before our appetizers hit the table.

Ryan worked with us to develop a menu that our guests are STILL talking about nearly 7 months later. We felt we had so much autonomy in what was served that day. We received so much glowing feedback on the hors d'oeuvres that circulated at cocktail hours, remarking that our guests have never had poached lobster on a stick or that they ate so much they were afraid they might not have room for dinner!

Dinner service was a 12/10 experience. Ryan promised us that every single dish would be served hot and boy did their team deliver! I've never seen so many clean plates after dinner service at a wedding, and our guests loved that the dual protein plate meant they didn't have to choose between chicken and beef. Don't even get me started on the caesar salad. It's legendary. Their wait staff were such professionals. Their timing was impeccable and the team working behind the scenes to create such a remarkable dining experience were all top notch.

If you're still on the hunt for a caterer for a wedding or any special event in the future, share a meal at their restaurant. Reach out to the catering team. You will not be...

There is something so very slightly "eerily unwelcoming" about this place. It starts as you are opening their front door and are stepping into the restaurant. We were there for our wedding anniversary and had made reservations several weeks out beforehand. The majority (if not all) of the evening reservation time slots were open at the time that we made the reservation so our reservation was readily made for 6:15pm. As we stepped in there eagerly anticipating a half decent or possibly premium dining lounge seating we were floored when we observed the hostess turn to lead us to a tiny boorish, classless seating area to the left of the doorway. Realizing what was going on here now and knowing that we had made our reservation well in advance we clued into the “unspoken” that was actually at play

This wasn’t the 1st time we were questionably treated there but we will make sure its the last time. We'll also be sure to not use our real first names to make reservations and to use more common proper sounding names

In response to the "Reply"

We identified a cultural flaw surrounding your businesses nature and your response is that we were “very rude”. That is completely not true and we were never rude. We merely stated our opinion of your business in a plain politically polite fashion. I say again that People should only use common sounding names when making reservations with your business. We sincerely wish you and your employees all the best but your statement sadly highlights the true origin for the “biased nature” within your business which now appears to originate from...
