Shot in the dark for this sushi place... if you have come this far and are in this area then your options are limited... but once again correct impressions are made after you walk in the door... the sign outside is hard to read and for the longest time stopped me from trying it... I figured if the sign is old and run down... then so is the restaurant... this is far from true... it's super clean... I mean way cleaner than most... it's cosy and has the feel of more upscale sushi restaurants we've been to and reviewed... soft music, nicely decorated and really understated... like I mentioned I was very very surprised after I walked in... staff very friendly... this is always something that will set off the whole experience... very pleased to be there and they were happy to have us... prompt service and very appreciated... Miso good.. wonton soup good.. tempura veggies good... shrimp dumplings were made well and flavoured.... now the main event... red dragon.. black dragon .. both were presented on traditional Japanese boat serving dishes... which some may not think adds but we do.. it's fun .. salmon was good but too much sauce on the rolls themselves... unagi was very good... this one paired with avocado and it was a hit... unagi is not so easy and ppl fail all the time.. would recco for sure... there is an all you can eat option and I assume you won't be disappointed... about 30$ depending on the time of day...I don't want to spoil it but they could probably charge more.. prices are very reasonable for the quality!.. free parking... care is taken here... don't skip... it's far from anywhere else... and hardly a last option... congratulations and...
Read moreThe all you can eat sushi was 17 plus tax and tip. Which would have been ok if the fish on the sushi had not looked like it was cut with a men's shaver and so thin you could see through it, on top of a huge 2 bite size piece of rice. The wait staff looked like they were praying you did not eat them out of house and home even though I had a very small amount and were relieved when I said I was finished and did not want desert. The tuna sushi was fishy tasting, very tough and dark meat, not white and soft like at spring time sushi. I suggest the owners visit spring Sushi get the fish quantities, size of sushi and quality up and charge 3 dollars more which will make the family owners relax a little more and bring back more patrons like myself with new ones. Place is too dark paint it or add some...
Read moreMy momma said, if you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all. I will say that they need to use less rice and more fish, their portions are way off. The quality of the fish is not fresh. The service is mediocre at best, poor communication. The selection of "All you can eat" is not good. The teriyaki chicken was dull at best with a sugary dressing, the fried vegetable tempura was dripping in grease it was worse than chicken wings.
I'm not dissing the place but these constructive criticisms needs to be out there. I felt they were gaffing it and just trying to wing it without any formal training at all. It was all over the place, Chinese meets Thai meet Japanese, make up your mind.
Hopefully they can get their act together and make proper...
