Nick the Greek Restaurant - Dougall Square — Restaurant in Ontario

After many years in the food industry it's very sad to see that a well know establishment will suffer on the Central - West side of Windsor. What Greek serves Flaming Cheese at $13.50 with vegetable oil? $16.95 for a large Greek salad that was shameful; no olive oil again. In hopes things would get better Gyros is a staple for a Greek , correct? NOT! I asked the owner if they made the Gyros meat, she claimed our recipe they make it for us. I can't prove if it is true and knowing a few older Greek establishments nobody makes the real thing anymore they all order from the same place. It's is processed. Moving on, 4 orders of Gyro platter ALL COLD! When I let the waitress know and my friend put the meat in the servers hand the owner came out and said it was because of the tzatziki. My Husband ordered his on the side; impossible. I am well over 50 and seasoned cook. I have eaten in many Greek establishment and this was one of the worst. I had to have the Moukassa, $26.95 the menu reads, "elegant béchamel sauce." I should have known better when I asked the owner and she told me it was frozen and they had to reheat it! What a failure! The thin broken layer of the elegant sauce that barely covered the little portion was sad. Please don't order it. They did accommodate 2 of the 4 Gyros, but they were not happy and the other 2 were eaten more for the embarrassment not to cause a scene. The 1 Star Rating is for the crinkle fries. They were hot and seasoned well, but that is a side not the main. I really never rated a establishment, but this one called for a ALARM! I paid my bill and even left a tip, but honestly save your hard earned money. If they don't change they wont last. Windsor should know and report the truth especially when you go and support an old school mom and pop joint. I don't know but the foodie on Tik Tok who raved about this place needs to go have a lesson or 2 in good Greek Food. Very sad in this economy. Will the Original Nick the Greek...

Nick the Greek has had my favourite Greek salad in Windsor for at least the past 10 years, until today. Ordered a salad and the dressing was completely tasteless, just seemed like some oil was drizzled on.

The portions are big for the price so in that aspect they are good but I really hope they go back to the same quality as a year ago.

Updating to add that the owner reached out and offered a replacement salad. Upon opening the food, I could already tell it was made differently as you could see the herbs in the dressing, this was not visible on the last salad. We ordered our dinner. When opened at home the rice and green beans looked absolutely disgusting and tasted even worse. Then wife’s dinner was not the chicken Souvlaki dinner plate as ordered but instead came as a wrap drenched in tzatziki sauce..the other dinner wrap was soaked in a warm drenched Greek salad..wife called to see if maybe we received the wrong order..employee suggested We looked at the wrong menu and that We just might have different taste buds..she was very rude and we will never go back and also never ever recommend this place..everyone works hard for...
