Pita Pit — Restaurant in Ontario

I feel bad making this review because up until today the service has been great. I’m not sure if the employees were new but Today was horrible. The price of everything has went up and I get that but the fact that the debit machine prompts you to tip is annoying. This is still a fast food restaurant it is just a little bit healthier than most & though I did tip I wish I hadn’t a as my pita was terrible. The idea of tipping is you tip based on your service, you tip before hand and the service is just trash it makes you not want to tip at a fast food place period. They also as you to donate $2 to a charity now which may seem great but it’s just the corporations way of getting some sort of tax write off. I came for a pita the pressure to tip and donate is unnecessary.. I realize this is happening at all locations but I had to add it into my review because the request of tipping has gotten out of control lately.

Now about the over all experience. I wasn’t asked if I wanted peppers and mushrooms on the grill so I had to request it and as the girl making my pita put them on the grill & the other employees was taking them off 2 seconds later. I was the only customer in the restaurant, my food was rushed for no reason. My chicken was cold and veggies uncooked. The pita itself was 2/3 packed with lettuce which made it huge and awkward to bite. I understand it is fast food as stated earlier, but if there is now a request to tip you would think my food wouldn’t be rushed off the grill and still cold. It is now nearly $14 for a large pita and the over all experience was that they were to take whatever money they could then rush you out the door with a sloppy cold pita. I would have went back but I grabbed it on my lunch break. I don’t send anything back. This speaks on how bad it was.

These employees may be new as I said previously & in this case I feel kind of bad writing this because the regular people in there do a fine job, I have been a repeat customer for a long time & never have I had an experience anywhere near this one. I will be going back eventually and and I will update my review...

We make this our weekly stop for take out. The staff is very friendly and Catherine is exceptional at her job. She always remembers our order and prepares it quickly and efficiently. She is always very pleasant and attentive and I look forward to our visits.

UPDATE... I feel the same as "K". First of all the customer service we received was terrible. The girl was not the least bit friendly, which if we receive a good meal we can tolerate that. We ordered 2 rice bowls ( our regular weekly order) and she didn't ask us if we wanted veggies on the grill, we had to tell her, and the chicken was still cold when we ate it. I drive through Simcoe to get to my trailer. I stopped at pita pit to get a pita to bring with me. I had my little chihuahua in my SUV and I couldn't leave her in it in 30 degrees heat..it wouldn't lock with keys in and air on.So I carried her in and asked if i could just order a pita and leave..explaining the situation. I was sent away because of my dog. Simcoe is a tourist town..that I suspect depends on the extra money in summer months. I was embarrassed first of all..I think they could have accommodated me..it could have paid and they could have brought it out to me? Not a smart way to treat your tourists..me and my family won't come...
