I am highly dissatisfied. My sister was picking up the order and I wanted specific things on my order. So, I thought I would call in and give my order to the restaurant directly. That way I would get exactly as I wanted and with no communication problems or so I thought. Well, the man who answered the phone spoke broken English. He could not understand me and vice versa. He told me to just come in because it would be easier. So I had no choice but to agree and to have my sister go in and order. My sister said that the woman making the order went way too fast to keep up with. As a result of all this, I did not get what I wanted, like the salad dressing was supposed to be on the side, but it was put in andt leaked all over the bag. Next: PORTION SIZE: the salad was very tiny and so was the side fry that I bought. The small tzatziki that they charged me for is a third of the size of Sammy's on Trafalgar. This restaurant has A Lot of work to do, I feel that they should not represent the Sammy's name. If you want normal size portions, somewhere you can call ahead on for your order, somewhere that Always gets your order right- be it on the phone or in person... Go to the original Sammy's, the one located on Trafalgar. My sister did say that they are very nice...
Read moreCould be a lot better! Don’t confuse the quality at Southdale location with the homebase on Trafalger. The service is fake and poor, as the lady argues with you and wracks up the bill with unknown prices. All the friends and family I brought there found her abrasive and she doesn’t cook the food enough. Several times I tried using the menu board to control costs but left there being billed $80 for 4 small orders. We could have eaten at Mandarin and gotten 5xs the amount of food. Trafalger location is almost the same, except the gravy has changed. But honestly, in over 15 years of loving his recipe I’ve never left there confused about the bill. Steer far from the south location unless you enjoy paying$20 above what’s advertised, less food and fake...
Read moreThis is NOT the Sammy's it used to be. The gyros are very, very small now. A gyros is not enough food for a lunch for a man. It's also lacking in toppings. The poutine doesn't come with cheese curds but just grated marble. One would expect cheese curds for $8.75! I originally asked for a gyros without a pita but in a container on some lettuce. NOPE! The lady serving was VERY rude. Other patrons were speaking with us about how RUDE she was and how unaccommodating the entire place was. The lady taking orders was handling money and then food without washing her hands in between transactions. GROSS! The food was not great. We will not return. It's a shame, as Sammy's was always a London icon. If I could leave a review with zero...
