The Bunkhouse Restaurant (Delhi) — Restaurant in Ontario

The first visit to this eating establishment was good and bad. When entering the restaurant my wife had a fall injuring her knees because front step not being visible in poor light. The hostess that greated & sat us at our table was very pilute, empathic & helpful. She apologised & after sitting us, brough my wife a bag of ice for her knees. It was a while before our server stopped to take our orders. After taking our drink orders my wife asked her a couple if questions on a few items in the menu looking for some recommendations, the server asked if we were ready to place our meal orders but we asked her to give us a few minutes. We received our drinks but the server never returned. We noticed that people that were seated after us were alredy getting their meal orders taken. When our server finally did come over, she asked my wife if she wanted another ice bag since the ice my wife had was melting. My wife answered " yes please " but indicated she had to visit the ladies washroom, but would love it on her return. The bag was taken away but a fresh one never came. The food was excellent. After the meal we waited awhile before the server came back to ask if everything was ok & if there was anything else we needed, at this time my wife requested for a glass hot water, which never arrived. After about 10 minutes the server came rushing back to ask what it was the my wife asked for, but by now we had had enough of waiting. We asked for the bill, even though we wanted dessert. We received the bill, paid it & left. We are usually very generious with tipping our servers, but in this instance that was not the case. I went here last summer, and we sat at a table for 30 minutes before a waitress came to us, so we stood up and left because we were tired of waiting. Last night we decided to go again and give it a try. We came at 6:30, and had two children under 2 years of age with us. When we ordered our drinks I right away ordered the kids food, so that we would get that right away. After an hour of waiting, the kids still didn't have their food and by now were very hungry and tired. I asked kindly if the food was coming, and she said they were working on it. Then we finally got our garlic bread appetizer, and our main course and our kids still didn't have their meal. When everybody had their food that's when the kids got their food too. We ate the food it was hot, and delicious. Then the waitress came and asked if the kids wanted their ice cream which was part of their children's meal. About 10 minutes later she came back and said they were out of ice cream and offered pie or cake. We decided not to have either. We asked for the bill and we left. We didn't get a discount or nothing I was upset that we had to wait so long for our food, and that they didn't appologize for the lateness of the kids food, and also not for the lack of ice cream dessert. My parents go here all the time and they love it, but the two times that I have gone, based on my experience I would not go again. In the future I will go one more time because of what my parents always tell me is great, but if again it does not go well, I will be sure not to...

My sister and I came here March 1, 2025 with our nieces. Firstly, our drinks came out with one server carrying two drinks, a different server carrying one drink and the first server went back to get the fourth drink, I found it bizarre there are no trays. Secondly, we ordered the bruschetta bread as an appetizer, the server did not bring small plates for the bread and the feta and tomatoes kept falling on the table (very annoying). It appeared as if it was garlic butter on a sub bun, some canned tomatoes and feta cheese sprinkled on top, sadly very basic for a Mediterranean Restaurant. Lastly, I had the club house(it was ok), my three year old niece had chicken fingers (which was hard and crunchy), my sister had the fish( there was more batter than fish).
