To elaborate on the coleslaw, it seemed to be the oil itself. It had that very definite "old oil" taste to it. It was like the oil or something was "off". I don't think it was the cabbage, because that seemed crispy. I don't know what kind of vinegar they use, but if it's not standard white vinegar, then perhaps that is part of the issue. ??? Not sure. I hope that they didn't use a "wine" vinegar as that would not be cool.
So, it's difficult to put into words, but if you guys taste it, to you, does it taste the same as always? If so, then it's how it's made and I'm surprised, to be honest, that anyone would like it. I eat pretty much anything, but when something has a weird taste, I notice right away.
As for coming back, well, we put your location into our GPS, so there's that. LOL Of course we'll be back. :) But on the next order, I'm going to ask to substitute something else for the coleslaw, if that's how it always has tasted.
However, if you taste is and agree that something isn't right (which can happen) then I know it will be corrected.
And yes, I can see how it would be impossible to find a space to create a coleslaw station. I'm actually surprised how smoothly you all work together in there. Impressive!
Anyway, hope to see you again and I will ask for a substitute, although, I have no idea what...

This iconic spot has people talking about it far and wide. People travel from all over Canada and even the US just to come here and try their iconic food.
The Dill Pickle Fry - This is the signature flagship item that made them famous. I have eaten so many of these I can probably say my DNA is 10% Dill Pickle Fries. If you go here try one for yourself and see why they're famous. I DARE you to order the family size one and TRY and eat that solo. Many have tried but only a small handful of us have succeeded.
The Double Double Poutine - This was only supposed to be a special last year. It blew up and became so popular that they have made it a permanent menu item. The fried cheese curds on top of a poutine that already has cheese curds is every foodies dream poutine.
The Howey and Cowboy Burgers - are my two go to burgers I get there. While the burger itself is simple how they top it and serve it make it elevated above the rest. I ALWAYS get a burger with whatever fry order i choose. Sometimes I can't choose and just order everything I like and save myself the anxiety of the decision of what I should miss out on.
They also have amazing fish and chip, fish tacos, foot long hot dogs and more. They even have vegan burgers as well.
Try it for yourself and see why...
Read moreIncredible Food with HUGE portions. We have been following the chip Ship on Instagram for a while, but only just made it there for the first time recently. I love Dill Pickles and everything made with dill pickles is going to grab my attention. The Dill pickle fries at the Chip SHip had me drooling from the first time I ever saw them. We stopped in for what was supposed to be a quick bite of lunch - but it turned out to be an early dinner. The portions here are massive. YOu will not leave hungry. We ordered fish sandwich with Dill pickle fries (of course) and Fish and chips upgraded to dill pickle chips. This 'light lunch' was so huge - we realized later - we could have shared 1 meal. Everything was very tasty - and perfectly cooked. The dill pickle fries did NOT disappoint. They were everything I had hoped for - and much more. As I was eating - I kept saying "oh my gosh i am stuffed" but i kept eating because they were so good. They are highly addictive. The food truck is locatedright on the waterand there is waterfront picnic tables where you can sit and enjoy your amazing food while you watch boats come and go - and ducks swim past.
If you are looking for a great meal, with a lovely setting. THe Chip Ship is a must.
