I'll start by saying I do not give a 1 star rating unless it was deserved.
After sitting down at the restaurant our group was told by the bartender that they were short staffed and that he would have a word with his boss tomorrow about sending the other server home. Clearly it was busier then expected. This was fine with me, I was more then prepared to wait longer due to the restaurant being busier.
The server and kitchen staff were not wearing masks, the server had his around his chin.
I was never comfortable making an order as the bartender was slamming glasses and clearly angry with how busy it was, which is not okay.
While making my friends drink he poured the drink onto our menu (probably didn't even notice because he was in such a rush) and just continued on with his rant.
Throughout the night I was asked what kind of drink I wanted, I said "hmm" as I was thinking for maybe 2 seconds before the server said "Your about to lose your chance"
When we actually were given the chance to order our food he said "Are you getting food? I don't mind if you wait until later?" ... we came to eat. We ended up ordered something very small to share because we felt like ordering an actual meal wouls be a huge inconvenience. We then went back to our hotel and ordered an actual meal from a local restaurant.
Lastly, I tipped the server $3.50 on a $90 bill fornour group. I usually tip 15 - 20 percent regardless of the service I receive but this service was horrible. When he saw what I tipped he said " WOW" A tip is earned, and if you treat your customers like they are a huge inconvenience then you do not deserve one. VERY BAD SERVICE=BAD TIP
UPDATE: Went back in the morning with our breakfast vouchers from the hotel. The girl the served us was upbeat and super professional, she was wearing a mask. The food was very good. Everything I would expect out of an excellent waitress. I'm changing my review to a 3 star. I wont judge an entire restaurant based on 1...
Read moreWe were a large group staying at the hotel for a hockey tournament, half of the group was kids under the age of 7. The restaurant gave us a private room for dinner and took our orders earlier in the day so that our meals were all ready within minutes of being there. Great for parents so that we didn't have hungry/impatient kids. The food all came out hot and we had over 25 orders that all came out exactly as ordered, even with a few substitutions. Everyone's billing was correct and straightforward. The staff was extremely patient with our large group of rambunctious kids. The food tasted great and prices for meals and drinks were a great value. Would highly recommend for a group dinner.
My family also ate here in the morning and breakfast was hot and tasted great. We used the vouchers from the hotel. If you are staying when the hotel is fully booked. I highly suggest going down to breakfast early or ordering the night before. There didn't seem to be enough staff in the morning for breakfast and a huge line was forming as we were finishing up our breakfast. There was 2 hockey teams staying the same night. many families on our team didn't eat since they didnt arrive as early. My suggestion would be to set up a continental style breakfast in the private room for those large groups. To reduce the demand on staff. The staff was very friendly and hustling in the morning. My husband and I were impressed with...

So, clearly not much has changed based on other reciews about poor service or lack of staff. Was just there minutes ago, 7pm Sunday May 12th mother's day. Walk in and the male waiter immediately tells us he can't seat us as they are just too busy. We look in and see MAYBE 20 people at most with seating left to spare. Like common man. It's Sunday at 7pm on mother's day?! You don't have enough staff working to even fill you seats and they are turning people away ay 7pm? The rush is long long long over by 7pm. This is utterly embarrassing to run a restaurant this way. Horribly chronically understaffed like other reviews say is not a lie, as its true and clearly the owner who said they would fix this has done nothing to make changes. Amazing, we cross the road to Irving and we are seated right away, sitting there now actually as I wrote this and Irving is easily 10x busier right now as you know, it's a truck stop and they actually have staff to serve PAYING CUSTOMERS. Westwinds is a joke, scratch it from the list of places to eat in Pembroke and just go across to Irving, at least you be served and not turned away. What a joke. To the owner. Go over to riving snd see how they run there restaurant snd make some changes to yours.... like staffing your facility properly so your seats can actually be full and people can be served in a...
