My husband and I went to Ridgetown the other day to go to "Little Britain", (British shop, which I will review and give it a really great rating as well), we got hungry and saw a sign for Yecks Smokehouse, and decided to give it a try. Let me first say, that I am a pretty good cook so restaurants usually leave a bad taste in my mouth, but boy oh boy was I ever more then pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is rather large with minimal firefighter decor, the menu has typical family dinning fare and the prices are more then fair. Upon reading the menu I did notice however that that there was no smoked meats, which I thought was strange given the name of the restaurant. I mentioned to our waitress (Tracy, (and she was dynamite ), that the sign had us believe that's what we were about to eat. She explained that the owner was a fire chief and the name came from that, which explained the decor. Anyways, both my husband and I had smash burgers. His was plain and mine had smokehouse sauce (BBQ sauce) mushrooms and onions. I have never had a smash burger before. These burgers were delicious and huge. I could only eat half of mine. I got fries and coleslaw, my husband had fries and baked beans. I know these are all basic things to prepare but let me tell you, Wayne (the owner ) has knocked it out of the park. I highly recommend giving them a try. You truly won't be dissapointed. Keep in mind, this is a family restaurant so it does not serve alcohol, (we don't drink so that was okay for us) but Tracy said that he owns another restaurant on the same street that does. I did take some photos but for some reason I can't seem to upload them. I...
Read moreWe traveled out of our way for the "smokehouse grill" experience. When we arrived we were surprised it was more like a diner cafeteria atmosphere. Didn't smell any smokehouse. Nothing indicating anything was being smoked outside or in. I was craving brisket. The place was full of seniors. So we started thinking "good food good value". Was seated. Menu was nothing too special. Normal meals. I had the pork chop dinner with veggies. We are in a incredible agricultural town so we read. The prices seemed fair. I was expecting something terrific. I ended up with 2 thin small fast fry chops & previously frozen veggies. I thought "huh" ? ($14) Even the apple sauce was in these 2 little jam containers ! I saw a few others having the same meal. Would real apple sauce or a dish of it be too much to ask ? My girlfriend liked her pot roast sandwich. It was good. ($6). Grilled like an grilled cheese with gravy & roast in it. She also noticed that the mashed potatoes on others tables looked over processed. Whipped ? I guess for a small town this is as good as it gets !? I believe it's also a dry restaurant. As we saw no indications that a beer with your meal was possible. We left with a nice $27 meal bill & off we went. The beans & cole slaw were very good. Slaw might of been home made ? We have no intentions on returning here if in the area. I don't think for a agricultural town that big meaty pork chops & fresh veggies was too much to ask ? Chops are generally cheap everywhere in every cut. Carrots too !! Made no sense to me. Especially if seniors are filling the place. My parents & grand parents would have...
Read moreWent to eat here with 4 generations of my fam. My Grandparents ordered the Hot Beef and Veal Parmesan, my mother and I got the All Fired Up, Sauteed Mushroom and Onion Burger, my love got the Smokehouse MEGA BURGER, 1lb if meat burger, and my kids got the Chicken burgers, one got breaded the other got grilled, chicken. First, the service was amazing! 🥰 Friendly, fast, informative, and attentive. Second, but not second place, the food was FANTASTIC. Portions are massive. Pricing is reasonable and nothing to balk at when your heaping plate arrives. The food was all PIPING HOT, which I loved! My son even said, "Mom, you have to give this place a 5⭐ review!" He was standing and dancing while eating his food, it was soo enjoyable. Haha! If you have room (Well, do yourself a favor and save room for dessert!!!) We got a Lava Cake and Slice of Lemon Pie to share. The Lava Cake was AMAZING! Moist, hot, chocolatey, not too sweet, it's HUGE! It would have come with ice cream but we didn't have room and declined it. The Lemon Pie, was THICK, cool, and refreshing. I can't say enough good things about this place. Go...
