What a wonderful little gem off the beaten path. Winter weather forced me me off the highway early for the night. My light-loaded semi trailer and ice left me stuck for a bit. Went inside, had a bowl of navy bean soup and pork souvlaki with poutine (fries and gravy). Absolutely delicious food. The soup had just the right of smokey-grab and spices; beans were cooked to perfect texture. The souvlaki pork was juicy, tender and expertly seasoned. The salad was all fresh, hand-chopped veggies. Even the olives were robust with a subtle oily-smooth finish. The staff were attentive and warm, and even while I was eating, the elder gentleman who was running the place, had his contact with a dually, outside waiting for me at my stuck truck, and had already shoveled out my wheels, put salt down, and had the cable ready to go, before even discussing payment arrangements. To my surprise, the man only wanted $50 for all his work. I doubled it, and then threw in an extra $20, because I honestly don’t get to see that kind of integrity, skill, hard work, and sense of community often anymore. I will never forget this place or the kindness of the people who run it. Thank you so very much for taking care of this wayward Louisiana trucker....

Is the place fancy? No. Is the food great tasting and generous? Without a doubt.

The French Toast may be the lightest thing on the menu, so if you are a light eater, prepare for some delicious leftovers to take away. Even my lean-mean-eating-machine teenage son, who routinely devours entire pizzas at a sitting was stymied by the Truckers Breakfast, with three eggs, three pieces of ham and a mound of home fries.

The gyro is melt in your mouth with crispy fries and a satisfying Greek salad. Same with the souvlaki dinner.

Family owned and operated, you will often find three generations in the restaurant, with two of them offering you fast friendly service either at the cash, serving and cleaning tables, or in the back, prepping and cooking.

The Northway is definitely with a stop for fast delicious food, and a chance to take a break from the usual rush of...

Was just in here 10 minutes ago with my spouse and we walked out.

We had come in for breakfast this morning. We ordered coffee, tea and our breakfast right away. 10 minutes later 2 "regulars" walk in and 10 minutes later received their food while we are still waiting. Cups had lipstick all over both so not very clean. Nice to see you treat your regulars with care... what about everyone else?

Second time here and the first time was garbage but I'd figured as a small joint I'd give it another shot, seeing as I live 2 minutes away. Too bad businesses don't realize how much affect these reviews can have on your client base. Maybe someday they'll learn to treat all clients equally. Until then I will continue to drive the 10 mins into Barrie and relay this...
