GIVING THIS PLACE – 0 STARS - POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!
On February 14th, I had contacted the Lovely Tea House to make reservations for March 3rd for two people for High Tea as we were celebrating a birthday. I received feedback via email from Kristine confirming my reservation and that she needed by telephone number for their booking system to which I provided to her. We arrived on March 3rd only to find out that they were NOT OPEN as there wasn’t anyone on the premises which I thought was very odd. I then tried to call to find out why they were closed when I had reservations but got their answering machine and just hung up as I was pretty upset and embarrassed as I had planned a special day for my friend and I to celebrate her birthday. A few minutes later, I received a call from Kristine. I informed her that I had reservations and was on-site but they were closed. She then proceeded to tell me that she didn’t have me in their booking system and that she was sorry. I find this place very odd and really don’t understand how they can run a business like this to take bookings but not enter it in their booking system and not even be opened. She could have contacted me well in advance to inform me that they planned to be closed for whatever reason and I would have made alternate arrangements. I definitely have spread the word around for people not to recommend this place as their CUSTOMER SERVICE...
Read moreMy friend and I went for high tea and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The place is beautiful inside( the porch could use some attention, it would make a lovely outdoor setting), Christina is very friendly and accommodating and the tea options are fun and very tasty. I'm giving 5 starts, because for the price I understand the food choices. While generous, none of the sandwiches, scones or treats are anything to write home about. They're adequate, but it would be better with artisan breads, more inspired sandwich toppings and bakery treats. And I would like my own little pot of clotted cream and jam. And I'd happily pay more pretty person. However, as I said the tea is lovely (you each get a pot), Christina is a gem and there are lovely things to look at inside. There's also an artisan market upstairs, but we could not go up as it is not accessible for people with limited mobility. Maybe some things could be...
Read moreYesterday my mom and my sister in law hosted a beautiful bridal shower for me at the Lovely Tea House. We had an excellent time and the space was so cute! They allowed my family to put up decorations to make the room feel even more special. We had afternoon tea-the Vanilla Chai was my favourite but everyone loved trying an array of teas in many different flavours. The food was perfect for the event and way more filling than I even expected. We had originally booked for the weekend of the ice storm but the venue was amazing and accommodated a last minute change of dates since the weather was initially so bad we couldn’t have family travel from out of town. Everything was lovely. My only concern was it was a bit tricky to find the parking lot at first but we all figured it out quickly :)
Thank you for an incredible space to host...
