The Jube Pub & Patio — Restaurant in Oshawa

What was suppose to be a nice evening out with the girls turned into a nightmare. I am very disappointed by the experience I had at this establishment.

As we arrived we were seated at a table in the shade as we requested while we waited for the rest of our party to arrive. This was not an issue until our server came over. When our server came to the table she greeted us with attitude and made us feel as if we were not welcomed. We explained that we are just there for a quick bite and drink and will be on our way but our server seemed very stressed and flustered about it. She told us she would only serve us if we sat at a table that was in the sun because the last time we were there we caused problems which is strange considering we have never been there before. We kindly asked if we could speak to a manager to resolve the situation to turn our experience around. I was shocked when the manager came over, he was very unpleasant and delivered even more attitude than the server! He had the opportunity to make things right but wanted to side with the server before allowing us to explain the situation. I have worked in the hospitality industry for more than 20 years and I couldn’t believe what we were experiencing.

I am extremely disappointed in the way things were handled. This was my first and last time I will be visiting the jube. I hope the staff can gain some respect and better communication skills...

I don’t understand some of the negative reviews for this place. The setting is great with a view of the lake. Peaceful setting in the park and the food and service is GREAT. If you’re looking for French Service and the food from a high end restaurant in the city, then you’re in the wrong place although I must admit I have enjoyed the food here more than many “high end” restaurants in Toronto. Yes, the fish and chips are awesome but in reality everything off the menu is great. The burger! Oh my! Toronto has gone through a real transformation from greasy spoon burger joints to places like The Burger’s Priest, Holy Chuck, etc…I would put the burgers here on the same level if not better. The poutine is plentiful and so good! I can’t wait to go back.

If you’re in the area or even want to spend a nice weekend afternoon on a little family trip, this would be a great choice. Park, lake, snack bars and a great casual patio restaurant.

They even have a very traditional banquet facility for weddings and other parties and the room is really nice. Great work revitalizing the area for whoever owns this...

I want to start off with this place was a 5 star to me the food was amazing service everything until I went this Sunday Aug 11 My husband and I and are two kids order food I order what I have gotten a bunch of times now which wasn’t the same I order the butter chicken there was no spice to it or anything in which I told the server she tells me there is no spice in it sorry bill comes it’s 121 with the butter chicken still on it so my husband says something and we get told she has to speak to the manager the cook comes out tells me I have to tell the server I want spice in it as I have never had her as my server which I told him I have never asked for spice to be put in it with the server we have had every other time we are there he then says he will take it off my bill but next time make sure to say I want spice the second bill comes and it only 79 dollars to which my butter chicken meal is only 18 this brings me to my 1 star how does a bill go from 121 to 79 with a 18 dollar meal coming off of it it doesn’t add up just make sure you look close at your bill...
