By far the best meal I have eaten all year. The Huevos Rancheros which is a classic Mexican dish translated as " ranchers' eggs" were perfection personified. Nothing was left to chance! Greeting by Shirley upon arrival, fantastic service throughout my stay and when my order arrived in a timely fashion the presentation was stunning! Piping hot, served on an oval cast iron skillet atop a protective base. This dish was layered beautifully with everything one expects, perfectly cooked eggs, refried beans, salsa and sour cream amped by the addition of avacado and Monterey Jack cheese with toast triangles accompanied by the tangy seasoned yellow flesh potatoes. Fantastic fruit jams and chilled blended juices served in champagne glasses put this culinary gem so far above its neighbours one could easily forget you were eating in rural New Brunswick. Read moreI don’t post negative reviews, but this place is so misleading I felt the need to share our experience. Bistro it is not. Server was very abrupt and abrasive, when asking about wine I was told “ red or white”. My husband got a smoked meat sandwich which had ONE slice (extremely thin) of smoked meat. We had to open it to make sure they did not forget the meat. We were on the better side of an hour and a half , and most of that was waiting for menus, drinks. Subtract 10minutes of us eating our … ummm… sandwiches. The rest of that time was waiting. I should add, they were not swamped with patrons by any stretch of the imagination. We are travelling and took the five star review and the name of establishment as a place to stop. This may need to be reviewed so others do not find...
Read moreCame in for lunch. Nice view of the river, and interesting atmosphere. Had a rice paper wrap with shrimp and veggies which was messy but good; cream of cauliflower soup which was excellent; a ham and cheese on croissant roll; greek salad; and shrimp/scallop skewer with vegetables. All were delicious, and portions were right sized (not huge). Lots of interesting garnishes. The chef does use poppy seed on quite a few things, which we liked. I am sure you can request to hold it. Also a nice fruit compote crepe with ice cream, and chocolate creme brulee. Both were to die for, and they were reasonably priced (most places charge outrageous prices for desserts). The bill was $90 American for all five of us, which was fair. Of note is a large, nice deck, in front. We...
