The Best Greek Salad & Ground Beef I've Ever Had in My Life.

I've had Greek Salad a couple of times in my life & the Greek Salad I had today at Nostimo was the BEST. Perfectly balanced flavour. Not too much feta, just a good amount. Not soggy lettuce. It was PERFECTION. The Moussaka by itself with no rice is actually a perfect dish in itself as it tastes very traditional as it is a traditional Greek dish. But since I was served the Moussaka with rice, that changes the game. If you eat Moussaka by itself with no rice, that's already Perfect. When you eat it with rice, it tastes better if you remove the top potato layer because the potato is mushy & mixes very well with the rice & changes the flavour because the potato actually has this cheesy flavour. Mixing a slightly cheesy-tasting mushy potato with the texture of rice is not a good combination. It tastes better just eating the Greek rice with just the ground beef itself with no top potato layer. That's just the REAL REAL. Great service. Very friendly Canadian woman with a vibrant personality. I love how this place is a fine dining restaurant in a place you least expect it. I think Nostimo will be better if the lighting was brighter. I'm not even sure where to start, but I guess I will begin with saying a big thank you to George and Shannon for making such delicious and authentic Greek food. I am Greek myself, have tasted countless Greek cuisine, and can honestly say this is one of the most AMAZING restaurants I have ever had food from! The souvlaki was tender and so tasty. The salad is so addicting you will literally feel sad when you've finished eating it - I could eat their salad all day, every day. The moussaka was the highlight for me (so. much. meat!!!)...not everyone can make a moussaka as good as this one. The portions were so generous as well. First time ordering. 5 stars is not enough. Everything was phenomenal. Who I assume were the owners greeted me when I walked in to pick up my order, they are so sweet, welcoming and kind. We didn’t dine in but the restaurant is beautiful inside. I don’t know how I made it home, the smell of the food was mouth watering. We got the mix grill for 2. The potatoes and rice were not dry. The lamb chop was SO tender, the chicken and pork souvlaki were tender and moist. The gyro, oh my lord, the gyro was FANTASTIC. Everything was seasoned to perfection.
