Wing House — Restaurant in Peterborough

It was one of "those" experiences. My son and I walked in 45 minutes before our movie start time at the adjoining theatre, and asked the hostess if they'd be able to serve us in time. She said, "sure, no problem", which seemed reasonable since the place was mostly empty. We were seated on the bar-side of the restaurant. The only other people in the section were at the table right beside us.

5 minutes in the waiter takes our order. My son ordered a pound of dusted wings, I ordered a half rack of dusted ribs with house salad, and just water to drink.

At the 10 minute mark, the an order comes out to the table beside us. It was the wrong order, and the table recognized it and sent it back. Still no water for us.

At the 15 minute mark, another order comes out to the table beside us. They started eating, and one of the patrons called the server over. He'd been given hot wings when he'd ordered mild. The waiter seemed confused about what was ordered, but went back to the kitchen to tray again. Still no water for us.

At the 20 minute mark, another plate of wings came out for the customer beside us. Still no water for us.

At the 25 minute mark, food comes out to us. My son's order seems of, but my ribs, which were supposed to be dusted, were smothered with sauce. I sent them back. The salad was on the plate with the ribs, so it went back with them. Still no water.

At the 30 minute mark, the waiter brought out a salad so I could get started. It was ok, but it was in an impossibly tiny bowl, and was impossible to eat without some of it falling out. I used paper towels as a placemat and got through it anyways. Water? nope.

At the 35 minute mark, more ribs come out for me. They were completely unseasoned, no dusting, no nothing...not even salt and pepper. It was completely obvious on 1st sight; I even showed what dusting should look like to the waiter by comparing them to my son's remaining wings. Back they went. No water.

At the 40 minute mark we gave up. They charged us for my son's wings, (which were ok; nothing special), and I went to the movie without having supper.

The food is ok. They have good chicken wings. Their other chicken products are closer to being high school cafeteria food. The servers are mostly pleasant and courteous. The lack of communication tonight was a major problem for me. Today's visit was not good at all, quite frankly. Other visits were acceptable. It took over 40 minutes for our orders to come. We missed the beginning of the movie we had tickets for. Granted, this visit was on Valentine's Day. However, when we were seated, we were not told there was going to be a 40-minute wait just for the food to come. Had we known, we likely would have made a different decision about where we were eating. It was very frustrating because we had children with us, who were both hungry and anxious to see the movie. We wanted to cancel the order to try to catch the movie but ended up getting it right when we wanted to leave. Thankfully, the kids weren't too upset about missing the beginning of the movie. We've been here on other occasions as well. The wait, though not nearly as long as today, is still a bit long for the kind of food that's being brought out. There was also a courier there tonight trying to pick up an order someone had placed online, who was losing his temper and being rude with the staff because he didn't like the wait either. The moment we enter the store at 7.50pm the server asked us if we are waiting for sonething instead of offering dine-in. When we told her that we were her for dine in she stated with a side eye, "The store closes at 8.45pm" without having any initial conversation. She mentioned the same thing two times which felt as if she was asking us to leave. When we sat on table she banged the menus on the table for us and brought only 2 plates instead of 3 ( because we were 3people). Her attitude throughout the serving was very rude, racist and unwelcoming. The name of the lady who served us, starts with 'K' . The server would leave the table before even we finished answering her questions. Food was excellent but we will not visit the restaurant again solely due to such a bad service and attitude of server. Hope nobody has to feel bad and experience such racist and rude attitude of such servers. Never visiting the place again. Worst treatment we have received in...
